Chaotic but funny movie Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
In "Tricky King", Eric Kot stars as Ohmygod, a hard-working nebbish who is taken advantage of and abused by just about everyone around him. After losing his office job, he becomes an apprentice to Nat Chan, the Supreme King of Tricks. Nat Chan's trickster service is hired by the son of a Hong Kong tycoon to play pranks on his half-sister. The tycoon's son wants to make sure that his half-sister doesn't cost him his inheritance by winning his father's heart. His half-sister then hires a rival trickster and we end up with a battle of the pranks.

This description may make the film's story sound more coherent than it actually is. "Tricky King" plays like a loosely connected series of comedy bits. The film-making is of a chaotic, low-budget, amateurish quality, yet the movie's host of genuinely funny sight gags and its relentless pursuit of laughs ultimately won me over.

Nat Chan and Erik Kot are suitably goofy and Athena Chu, Lee Ann, and Sherming Yiu provide plenty of eye candy for male viewers. Is "Tricky King" an artistic masterpiece? Uh, no, definitely not. But I had fun watching it.
