Not so good Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
I am pretty much dissapointed in this movie! Jackie Chan's " Drunken Master 1 & 2" is way better! Story isn't so fun and not well organized, plus actor's drunken kungfu wasn't good at all except the master of drunken kungfu. ( Because he has been in many kinds of kung fu movies in past, so of course he's good!) but Andy Lau, and the other actors.. not so good.. I am not recommanded this movie.

Drunken Master 3 Customer Review Rated Bad 1 - 1 out of 10

Director Lau Kar Leung made Drunken Master 3 (DM3) in response to his loss of creative control over Drunken Master 2 (DM2). But this demonstration of what he can acheive if he retains full control misfires sadly. The film is weak on a number of points when it stands alone, never mind when you look at it as an 'answer' to the great DM2. Lau meant this film to out-do the one that had been taken away from him but, with due respect, he makes himself look bad.

The film depicts Wong Fei Hung and his father in the same 1920's setting as its predecessor. In fact, you could say that it's a prequel, not a sequel, for several reasons. Fei Hung seems younger, and not just because he's played this time by a genuinely young actor. His behaviour in the script is less mature and he is notably clumsy in action, with little of the physical dexterity Jackie Chan gave the character. And while reference is made to Fei Hung's dead mother, there is no stepmother (as played by Anita Mui) yet. So this story seems to be set before DM2.

The cast of characters is a bit of a mess, with nobody really standing out. The whole story hinges of Michelle Reis's character, but her big moment in the script is breaking down and expressing a wish to be treated like an Empress. Hardly the kind of revelation that wins hearts. The principle villain is played by someone far too young, looking to be about fourteen years old. Wong Fei Hung is too blandly presented, seemingly written and performed with no mind to the history of the character so as to make this incarnation interesting. Wong Kei Ying is closer to his previous incarnations, but gets too little screen time to do much.

Somehow, the fine history of both these characters is insulted by the absurdly anachronistic Halloween party in the final act. I'm all for reinterpreting the characters, but this feels a bit too thoughtless.

boring film Customer Review Rated Bad 3 - 3 out of 10
This is definitely one of my least favorite Andy Lau film's as the story was just terrible and Andy does not feature much in this film.
