　　陳志雄（黃日華）屬典型的都市夾心階層，一方面受盡上司欺壓，另方面又要負起家庭重擔，備受沉重壓力。一次公司裁員，其下屬何忠信（馬德鐘）無故被革職，誤以為是雄所為，自此不斷以電話騷擾他。另外，雄的妻子李秀麗又突然懷孕，雄頓時不知所措……
　　雄逐漸迷失自我，開始走向極端，導致夫妻不和，且與好友張偉明（夏韶聲）友情破裂。此時，信乘虛而入，挾持麗及其女兒，向雄報復。雄不顧一切誓要救回妻兒，卻被誤會是神經怒漢。雄突然搶去警員配槍，欲與妻兒同歸於盡……
