Veteran Hong Kong Superintendent Law longs for a peaceful and prosperous life with his wife upon his retirement, only to have his dreams shattered when Law's wife is brutally killed by fugitive. Devastated, Law moved to Shenzhen, China and opened the 'Jiu Ji' restaurant, so he can forget the past and overcome grief through cooking. But it didn't take long for Law to go back to his roots again, as he helps his fellow Shenzhen citizens combat local bandits and bring them to justice.
