New Blood (US Version) DVD Region 1

Director Soi Cheang is the force behind New Blood, an unnerving horror film that eschews laughs and goes straight for the audience's jugular. When a pair of lovers attempt a double suicide, they're rushed to the hospital and blood donors are called in. However, only the man is saved. His lover (Winnie Leung) dies, and leaves the world alone. Meanwhile, the three blood donors (Niki Chow, Bernard Chow, and Cyrus Chow), are satisfied that they managed to save a life...until they receive nightmarish visions, and mysterious wounds begin showing up on their bodies. Apparently somebody is not happy with their good deed, and the consequence could be their sanity, or perhaps their lives! Soi Cheang also directed Horror Hotline - Big Head Monster, which delivered a haunting, immersive fear that gets replicated in New Blood. Featuring a cast of promising new stars, and a spare tone similar to the famed new wave horror films out of Japan and Korea, New Blood is a dark journey of unwarranted misfortune, and a standout Hong Kong horror film.
