makes me laugh more than be scared Customer Review Rated Bad 3 - 3 out of 10
this film should not be under horror, but instead, "comedies". it's so stupid that it's funny! there is really bad acting, bad filming like video-wise, which totally ruins everything. basically like watching "scream" or "i know what you did last summer" asian style. the dying/killing scene at the end was pretty cool though.

Rooting for the Slasher Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
In slasher movies, people usually hope kids get away from the killer. But in this movie I was rooting for the slasher/killer, because these kids are so terrible. They deserve what they got.

Better Than The Film That "Inspired" It! Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
First, let me say that I enjoyed "REC: Zikhimyeon Jukneunda," whose English translation means (to the best of my knowledge): "RECORDING: If Recorded, You're Dead." (If the translation is not entirely accurate, I apologize.)

"REC: Zikhimyeon Jukneunda" (marketed for English language audiences as "The Record") is hyped as "Korea's Answer" to the Hollywood big-money slasher film, "I Know What You Did Last Summer" -- and justifiably so, since "REC: Zikhimyeon Jukneunda" borrows heavily from that film without necessarily imitating it.

Now, it would logically follow that if I liked the Korean film it would also have to mean that liked the American film which clearly inspired it, right? Well, you'd be completely wrong! I totally HATED the American film! (I seem to be alone in this low opinion of not only that movie, but also of another American slasher called "Urban Legend" [the "first" film, not the so-called "sequel," which I actually liked much better ... again, a lone opinion not shared by anyone else].)

But despite hating America's "I Know What You Did Last Summer," I don't hate Korea's "REC: Zikhimyeon Jukneunda." I don't necessary think of it as a "great" film, by any means, but in my opinion the Korean film is what the American film SHOULD HAVE BEEN!

American horror/slasher film makers often have this inability to keep their stories and plots within the realm of reality or believability. In "REC: Zikhimyeon Jukneunda," I found only one scene which I really call into question for its unlikely scenario, but because the rest of the film played out in such a reasonably acceptible manner (to whatever degree it may actually be possible for a "slasher" movie) it was easy enough to disregard and overlook.

Don't go into this expecting high art, and definitely don't expecting anything on the same level as intelligent horror films such as the original Japanese version or the Korean and American remakes of Nakata Hideo's "RING," because "REC: Zikhimyeon Jukneunda" is pretty much "teen angst" standard fare. But is "standard fare" is all you're after, "REC: Zikhimyeon Jukneunda" is one of your better catches swimming around in the glutted lake of "teen slasher" movies.

Watch at your own risk Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
Oh man this movie is horrible. If you actually like teenage junk like I know what you did last summer, then I guess you would like this too. But it's so dumb you're just better off saving your money for something worthwhile.
