YesAsia Editorial Description

Released in 2002, Flying Dragon, Leaping Tiger is a rare recent martial arts film that hearkens back to the beloved kung-fu epics of the Shaw Brothers era. Luk Ching Yang (Sammo Hung), and his wife Lu Yian (Cheng Pei Pei), witness the beginning of a decades-long feud, encompassing family, respect, honor, and revenge. Years ago, villain Kiu Hung betrayed the couple, leading to the death of their son. Now, Lu Yian teams up with a young warrior named Pak Suk Fu (Louis Fan) to finally gain her revenge on Kiu Hung. But an internal wound is slowly killing her, and her goal of revenge slowly begins to slip from her grasp. Meanwhile, Ching Yang is still at large, and trains Lu Yian's adopted daughter (Jade Leung of Black Cat) to aid in his own plan to confront Kiu Hung. But is it revenge he seeks? Or maybe reconciliation?

Classic martial arts themes of respect and nobility populate Flying Dragon, Leaping Tiger, along with beautifully-staged swordplay and a meaty story set in the familiar "World of Martial Arts." The presence of classic kung-fu heroes Sammo Hung and Cheng Pei Pei only cements Flying Dragon, Leaping Tiger status as a modern martial arts film for fans of the classics!

Not that good!! Customer Review Rated Bad 3 - 3 out of 10
I am a fan of both Fan siu wong and sammon and was expecting much from these two but the film dissapointed.

First the positive a cast of real martial artist and some decent fight scenes. Fan siu wong does let loose a bit of his martial arts prowess. And Jade is beautiful. Contains sammo hung.

Negative: I say some decent fight scenes becuase quite a bit of it is during the night and the lighting is terrible covering most of the fight anyway. Sammo is under used and does not really show what he is capable of. The story is full of holes and executed in a boring way. The CGI is terrible.

A low budget flick with aminor amount of decent but unspectacular/unoriginal fights. Watch once and never again.

man Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
man, this is my second time writing this reivew. my first one is not up here.
i forgot wat i wrote in the first one, and i forgot pretty mcuh how the movie went.

all i remember was, i wanted to take my life during the movie. it seems like a low budget film with minimun effects.

jade deserves much more then these types of roles.

the cover makes it look all good, but when you watch it, its a whole different story..

when the movie ended, i was still wondering what the heck just happened. the ending was very vague, impossible to fill in the gap...
