YesAsia Editorial Description

Popular star Leon Lai leads a cast of singer/actors in Fruit Punch, a modern comedy directed by internationally-recognized filmmaker Clara Law (Autumn Moon, Floating Life). A group of five friends (Leon Lai, Hacken Lee, Remus Choy, Calvin Choy and Edmond So) leave their disparate careers in the Hong Kong work force and pool their talents to open their own business. But the going is tough, and soon the business folds. Undaunted, the five friends continue their attempts to make it in the world, and through all of their efforts, successes and failures, they manage to find some part of themselves amidst Hong Kong's fast-paced cosmopolitan culture. Long one of Hong Kong's top actor/singers, Leon Lai is joined in Fruit Punch by singer Hacken Lee, and the trio of Remus Choy, Calvin Choy and Edmond So, who comprise the popular band Grasshopper. Co-starring lovely idol singer Vivian Chow as Leon Lai's girlfriend, this winning look at the lives of Hong Kong youth is a lesser-known, but no less worthy effort from director Clara Law.

Fruit Punch is a fun movie Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Fruit Punch is a fun movie about 5 guys (Leon Lai, Hacken Lee and Grasshoppers) who want to get into business and become rich. They first come up with the idea to go into the laundry business on the rooftop of a building, but that didn't work out too well. Then one day, after having a sale of different things, they discover that Hacken's fake jewelries were the best selling items. They decide to target the fake jewelry market. On the side, there are 3 love stories happening: Vivian Chow and Leon Lai are paired, Hacken is paired with a nice girl who has to immigrate to Australia, and Choi Yat Kit (of Grasshoppers) is paired with a female co-worker at his office.

I enjoyed this movie. It is not a very serious movie. I like the fact that it gives a person a happy feeling and not to worry about today, but have hope that things will turn out better tomorrow.
