Not Up to Leslie's Standard Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
I already own quite a few albums of Leslie's and even though there are repetitions of his songs in each album, I don't mind. The packaging looked impressive but not practical as the 2 cd/dvd were merely put in slits in the paper sleeves and they are actually quite troublesome to remove everytime.

I purchased this one for track #3 and also the dvd which is supposed to show him performing his award-winning song. It was cut/edited not even halfway through the song. What a letdown and I'm upset because the product description is wrong! The 30minute interview was candid and honest, reflecting his personality and it's good to hear him 'speak under normal circumstances and be himself'. However, I'm wondering why this was packaged under the dvd when there's no screening of the interview, just a blank page. Is this release different from any other previous ones?? I'm certainly not impressed. Any other fans feel the same?? For the price, I feel cheated!

Leslie won me over Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
My perspective on this album is a bit different than that of the other reviewers posted here. I did not grow up listening to this music; it is new to me. Consequently, I do not bring to it the nostalgia that most others will.

Initially, I was put off by the 1980s arrangements of the songs. This definitely is a product of its time. I also have enjoyed Leslie Cheung much more as an actor than as a singer. Frankly, if he had not been a successful actor (and a very handsome guy), I doubt that anyone would have been much interested in his singing.

However, by the third or fourth time I listened to this album, I became won over by it. There is a strong influence of the British pop group ABC on this record, particularly on its second track, which steals liberally from the ABC song "Poison Arrow". The uptempo songs are infectiously catchy and most of the ballads are very sweet and affecting. Leslie's singing is effective throughout the album.

The digital remastering of "Summer Romance '87" is superb. Apart from the dodgy arrangements, this album sounds great. In the end, I can recommend this album highly. And at this low price, you really can't go wrong.

 No Mood To Sleep - Leslie In 1987. Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
One of the best selling albums in 1987 by Cinepoly Co. Ltd. (a subsidiary of the now defunct PolyGram Records Ltd., Hong Kong, which is now part of Universal Music Ltd., Hong Kong), is also one of my most favourite albums of 1987. The first two tracks, plus tracks 6 and 10 were absolute hits among the Hong Kong public. Do you all still remember the cool dance moves Leslie employed for his "No Mood To Sleep" MV and his award-winning presentation at Hong Kong's TVB's "J.S.G. Best 10 Awards Presentaion 1987"? 1987 was a golden year for Cantopop. Just look at RTHK's "The 10th Top Ten Gold Songs Awards" of 1987 and "J.S.G......1987" and you can see why. I loved this album. The music tempo is bit slow and maybe old fashioned for many, but golden Cantopop classics never die......long live Cantopop. May Leslie's pop songs live on and on......

I had also bought this album ( LP!! ) more than 10 years ago, and I had listened to this wonderful best album over and over, however , back in 1980's, I had to change record side each times when I finished listening one side! =) But this time, you don't have to change side, you can listen to this wonderful songs from first to the end straight! Plus, I am so impressed this package! It IS just like " LP", even the disc was designed like " LP record", that is really cute touch, just like mini record-CD! I love it! Summer Romance is his best album, you should have this album if you are truely Leslie Fan! Plus, the price is really great deal! You should get it now! ^_* ( I wonder if "Vergin Snow" also was reissued..? Because that is also great album too! If not, I hope they would reissued.. )

One of the Best Albums Ever Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I remember listening to this on cassette tape more than 10 years ago over and over again. It was just that good. This is a must have item for every Leslie fan. The last song is from the movie "A Chinese Ghost Story" which Leslie also acted in and it is so heart rendering to listen to this song after watching that movie. This album is a classic and words just cannot express how great it is. Enjoy.
