　　日本小職員和田（本木雅弘飾），被公司派到中國雲南找尋翡翠礦，而脾氣暴躁、惡型惡相的黑社會氏家（石橋蓮司飾）也跟著和田到來。兩個日本男人，再加上一個貪錢的導遊，一行三人深入神秘偏遠的國度。在尋找鈅間，偶然得知一個比翡翠更動人、一個憑翅膀在群山間飛翔、叫「鳥人」部族的古老傳說。怎料當和田三人來到深山一個的小村莊，卻真的邂逅了一位神秘而美麗，被盛傳會飛的少女......

　　Wada, a Japanese businessman, has been dispatched by his boss to track down a cache of fabulous jade in Yun Nan where the most distant part of China. Ujiie, a short-tempered Yakuza, has also been sent to make sure the mob gets it proper share of the treasure. They are to be guided by the perpetually jolly but somewhat seedy Shen, who has been to the Jade Village before. Three mismatched men finally reach their destination but soon find something even more precious than jade.

　　There is a fascinating mystery of "Bird People", people believed their ancestors could fly and that they too possess this ability. In a remote village, Wada meets a blue-eyed Chinese girl who teaches the village children to fly......

 Disappointing Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
This DVD has a very attractive price. But what a disappointing content! The movie is almost 2 hours long - extremely boring and dull. The only positive side I found - plenty of picturesque nature views (probably that was the only reason this movie could win 53rd Mainichi Film Concours as the Best Cinematography). Otherwise The Bird People In China is waste of time.

you have to see this movie! it's funny, moving, beautiful....excellent! and for the ones who only know the "audition" or "ichi the killer" 's Takashi Miike, it will be a big surprise!
