A better version? But, Marina is great.

This is the Summer 2004 Sailormoon Musical (Sera Myu), a remake of the musical from 1999, Kaguya Shima Densetsu. You'll notice that many of the songs are the same, which gets old after a while, and that some of the better songs from the original musical weren't included, such as You're My Jewelry, probably because of the plot changes. However, I do think Kuroki Marina did an excellent job; her voice has really changed since she first started as Sailormoon, and the new Dark Plasman is better than the original. Junketsu no Narcism is a great new song, as is Gesshoku no Crime, and this version of Minna Dareka Aisarete is very nice too. All of the orchestration is excellent, as always. Compare this to an early musical, and you'll notice that the new musicals are using orchestral instruments much more, which I think is wonderful. Overall, being that this is Marina's last musical, I think they could have make it better and more original, though it is still one of the better musicals. |
