導演:何夢華
Director: Ho Meng Hua

Shaw Studios knew a good thing when they teamed their remarkable star Cheng Pei-pei with versatile director Ho Meng-hua. Their collaboration is always considered the best that can be done. Cheng plays master swordswoman Chung Kuei, who is injured in her chivalrous attempts to reform the villainous Black Demon. Hell has no fury like a woman wounded, so she teams with a pretty young sword student and virtuous swordsman to take revenge. Addition to this exciting story, the director and his star made it magic.

This one's got it all! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
"The Lady Hermit" is one of my all-time favorite Cheng Pei Pei films. There is plenty of action (mostly whips, swords, and darts) for martial arts fans, but what really sets it apart is the interesting love triangle among Cheng Pei Pei, Shih Sze, and Lo Lieh (lucky Lo Lieh!). It is fun to see Shih Sze's star turn as a peevish, self-centered young martial artist eager to show off her somewhat limited skills.

I found the story very enjoyable and engrossing. "The Lady Hermit" will appeal to a much wider audience than the typical martial arts film. I suspect that many women, who would not normally watch action movies, will enjoy this one. I recommend it highly.

The Lady Swordswoman Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This was a classic in terms of the choreography and hack-em and slash-em fighting. Cheng Pei Pei was dynamite as the Lady Hermit who by chance trains Shih Szu and indirectly Lo Lieh. The villain of the story has claws and makes this interesting against the sword. The story line was ok but the the action was really worth it. I liked it also because Cheng Pei Pei and Shih Szu's talents really shined.

The Lady Hermit Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This was the last Shaw movie for Cheng Pei Pei prior her marriage in 1971. Superb acting and martial arts skills as usual. This movie had also brought in Shih Sze as her successor. Interesting plot, violent fights with a triangular love affair between Pei Pei, Shih Sze and Lo Lieh. Worthy watching!
