2nd Mini-Album

As much as I love SweetS, I have to say this album is a little bit of a disappointment for me. Their first mini-album was definitely stronger, with a nice mix of upbeat, happy, and ballad songs. There were really no tracks that blew me away like "Tear 'lemon' Drop" and "lonesome Cherry did," resulting in this album relying entirely on the strength of the released singles. While the singles are good, this album doesn't have nice match up of awesome singles and awesome album tracks like SWEETS did. I'll give a basic review of my opinion of each of the tracks: 1. countdown--nice, club mix which I enjoyed. However, I prefer Love*Raspberry Juice from the first mini-album if you like such songs. 2. resistance--nice fun, jazzy song. The english phrases are really great! I thought this was the strongest song out of all the non-single tracks. 3. Sky--smooth, happy song with great lyrics <3. Love this song, but it takes a couple listens to really enjoy it. 4. snow crystals--This track was a HUGE disappointment for me. With BOUNCEBACK and ats back together (they did many of SweetS first singles like Love like candy floss), I thought this was going to be a great song. However, there was too much change in style throughout the song. The beginning had an "into the daylight ~Hikari sasu hou e~" feel, but then switched to ballad and these two kept switching back and forth in a really incongruent, unsettling manner. 5. Grow into Shinin' Stars--Love this song. So happy and uplifting. I'm really impressed with the girls' vocal efforts as it is a difficult song to sing. 6. into the daylight ~Hikaru sasu hou e~--I love this song, which is from their Sky single. Very mature and dark and reminiscent of old SweetS music. (a BOUNCEBACK and ats song, BTW) 7. oursong ~wakare no uta~--from the "countdown" double-A single. It's nice, but it's just not as strong of a ballad as Niijiro no Eien from the first mini-album. Plus, the melody is just ripped from the 2nd X'mas collaboration single with dream and Aiko Kayo, "Merry Christmas to You ~Kibou no Uta~" 8. Mirai e--This song is a nice ballad, but again not as strong as Niijiro no Eien. I kind of wished for harmony and group singing in this song, but the melody is simple and nice. |

Keep on MOVIN'

SweetS is release their second mini album. I like this one and the last one. The first album have more like a up-beat fast song and this one show how they muture. HEY they are only 15 year old. These girl have some ENCORE song already. {Growing into shining Stars.} I like the ballad too, OURSONG.... You should buy this album too with the DVD.... |
