In the chilly winter of 1978, Ji-hoon (Kim Jung-hun) becomes the subject of an extremely strict drill whose sole purpose is to provide him with the skills to stand his ground in the line of fire. Right after this torturous training, he and his buddies from the battalion that serves under infantry sergeant Min-gee (Park Gun-jung) are commanded to move to the deadliest war zone of all the border between South and North Korea
Based on director/author Lee Kyu-hyung's autobiographical book A Private's Journey DMZ captures the terrifying atmosphere of blood-shed for the love of one's country with shocking intensity. The director's other representative works include I'm Gonna Do Something Shocking (1990), Good Morning Ms. President (1989) and Youth Sketch of Mimi and Cheolsu (1987) for which he was awarded with the Best New Director prize at the 26th Daejong Film Festival. Kim Jung-hun is known as part of the popular Korean duo UN, while Park Gun-hyung is among the nation's top elite of promising new actors.

군대를 배경으로 한 실감나는 시나리오를 쓸 생각에 부풀어있는 영화학도 지훈. 보안대의 행패를 당하다 수색대 이민기 병장에게 도움을 받는다. 이병장의 카리스마에 매료된 지훈은 수색대에 자원한다. 그러나 수시로 북한군과의 충돌이 예상되고, DMZ의 지뢰밭을 누비고 다녀야 하는, 절반은 죽어서 제대하고 나머지의 절반은 팔, 다리 없이 제대해야 한다는 살벌한 수색대. 지훈은 그 DMZ의 모습을 서서히 마주치게 되고 죽음의 두려움과 불길한 예감에 사로잡힌다.

One thing I request is why no subtitle in english because I'm chinese don't understand korean but I know what the movies about some.What I wish if possible to have subtitle it could be more help for other races to watch and understand.Thank you. |
