Fantastic!

Planetarium, Bump of Chicken's newest single, is wonderful. If you are a fan of their newer, smoother style (sharin no uta, guild, etc.) you won't be disappointed. On the first track, "Planetarium," we are treated to a tour-de-force rock ballad that covers all of Bump's many moods (with the exception of the really harsh "joushaken" sound) and the second, "Galaxy Express," shows off their lead guitarist's picking skills, and later, a really neat bit of mandolin playing. Also included is a secret track from "The Gekishibu Boys," BoC's alter-ego boy band. Lots of unison singing and harsh shouted interludes of (ika! ika! (loosely translated as "go! go!)) are here to be found. Anyway, if you like Bump, you will in no way be disappointed, and this probably means there is a new full-length coming out! Let's hope so. |
