"To me, this program represents transformations of human emotions," Hahn-Bin writes in his album notes regarding his choice to select works influenced by World Wars I and II. This dazzling eclectic collection features the world premiere recording of selections from Prokofiev's exuberant "Romeo and Juliet", arranged for violin and piano. Also included are astonishing virtuoso performances of two major French compositions: Francis Poulenc's Sonata for Violin & Piano and Maurice Ravel's notorious Tzigane. But it is through Leos Janacek's Sonata and Arvo Part's Fratres, heartrending works which Hahn-Bin and John Blacklow take on with enormous emotional force, that this recording stands without precedent.

A captivating recording of alluring works by five illustrious composers of the twentieth century, HAZE was originally conceived by Hahn-Bin with pianist John Blacklow for a recital tour in 2004. Recorded in Seoul, this album was released Korea in 2005, to great acclaim from both Gramophone and Auditorium magazines.

Hahn-Bin has dedicated this album to the African children and women who suffer every day from poverty and violence.
