Premiering in 1999 on SBS, Happy Together is a hugely successful melodrama that tells the heart-wrenching story of five siblings whose lives are irrevocably changed by the tragic death of their parents. Lee Byung Hun, star of A Bittersweet Life and Everybody Has Secrets, stars as a professional baseball player named Su Tae Poong, who just so happens to be one of the orphaned children, now all grown-up. It seems three of the children were taken away, but for some reason, Suh Tae Poong and his younger sister were left behind. Due to Tae Poong's young age, his little sister had to be given up for adoption. Ever since, the kind-hearted Tae Poong has longed to bring the family back together, searching his whole life for his brother and three sisters. However, the reunion won't be quite what he expected!

In the present day, his elder sister Su Chan Joo (Jo Min Soo) supports her siblings Su Ji Suk (Song Seung Hun from Autumn In My Heart) and Su Moon Joo (Kang Sung Yun). Ji Suk finds himself engaged to Jin Soo Ha (Kim Ha Neul, from Romance). When Tae Poong finally finds his oldest sister and Ji Suk, his estranged siblings tell him to leave! If their coldness wasn't enough, an eight-year-old boy suddenly enters the picture, claiming to be Tae Poong's son. Faced with financial difficulties, Tae Poong turns to Chan Joo for help. Can there be a fairy-tale reconciliation? Or will it take a miracle?     happy together Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
    This is definitely one of my best Kdrama all time favorites. An all star cast where all of them in my opinion gave their all! The story itself is quite moving, it made me cry & laugh with the other characters like Peppermint, Pil Du & the charac of Chat Tae. I love the three main leads as well, I think this is a must see if anyone hasn't seen this. I love this drama & thanks to YA ent. for having this drama with subtitles.

    Greatest Family Love; Full of Tears & Laughs. Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
    I just enjoyed each and every ones characters,
    mostly because it seemed so original from when the time is set.
    I love seeing all the greatest k-actors/actresses in this so
    touching and warming drama.
    I cried and had a smile every now and then, but what I mostly felt was
    that I was a part of the drama itself.
    It made me so happy about the fact of having a loving family like this one.
    Props to Lee Byung Hun, Song Seung Heon, Kim Ha Neul,
    including Jeon Ji Hyun and Chae Tae Hyun.
    I just have to say that watching this golden drama is the best of my time.
    No drama can tell a story this heart-warming.

     Great drama~! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
    I think the problem that a lot of people (who rated this drama poorly) had was due to their misconception and not enough information about this drama. Although this drama does have an all-star cast, such as 전진현 (Jeon Ji Hyun), 차태현 (Cha TaeHyun), 송승헌 (Song Seun-Heon), 김하늘 (Kim HanNeul) and 이병헌 (Lee Byeong-Heon), you have to remember that for most of these actors this drama came out before they reached their stardom. For me, it was interesting to look back and see these actors playing very different roles than most K-drama fans may be used to seeing them in. Another thing to remember is that this drama doesn’t revolve around “bitter sweet romance” between characters. However it focuses mainly on the reunion of 5 siblings separated after their parent’s death. Therefore making it more of a feel good family drama. I personally love this drama, and always have since the first time it aired in Korea.

     Wonderful journey. Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
    I thoroughly enjoyed this drama. I watched all sixteen episodes in four days. Initially, I had reservations about buying it as some reviews here were not very good. I decided to take a chance, as not everyone has the same opinion and as it had such an incredible 'all-star' ensemble. I think this is one of the dramas that was a forerunner and set the tone for most K dramas to follow. I liked the performances and the story was wrapped up nicely without any 'loose ends'. Good character development plus some elements of humor. One can definitely see the chemistry between 전진현 (Jeon JiHyeon) and 차태현 (Cha TaeHyeon) (of 엽기적인 그녀 - aka 'My Sassy Girl' - fame). 송승헌 (Song Seun-Heon) is great as the tortured prosecuting DA. He has proven to be a versatile actor ranging from a sweetheart (Summer Scent) to a high school tough guy (The Guy Was Cool) and beyond. 이병헌 (Lee Byeong-Heon) initially comes across as pathetic but proves to have a heart of gold. And of course 김하늘 (Kim HanNeul) is perfect in her devotion to her fiance; one can see her every emotion dance across her face, even if she does not say a word.

    Anyway, without further ado, I recommend you see this. I think it's a good to gauge to check out more reviews by the same person. For the people that reviewed this negatively, please read their other reviews on things you already have seen. And please read my other reviews for the same reason to get a better idea of how and if your tastes are similar to the reviewers. In any case, for fans of the cast, it is also nice to see them in their 'early days' (this is from 1999).

    Good "Feel Good" drama Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
    This drama has not made the waves as such other dramas as "Winter Sonata" or "Palace". It lakes the "Flash" of all that. But its very funny and deals with family connections. I found that the story kept on a good pace and never lagged. It was sweet and heartwarming. I really liked it.
