I'm not going to say this single is excellent, but you have to admit that it is interesting.

I'm used to Ayumi Hamasaki playing with many styles of music. Her GUILTY album dealt with rock genres and NEXT LEVEL dealt with techno. Now that summer is here, many artists tend to experiment with a new style. For example, Tohoshinki did techno ballad 'Doushite kimi wo suki ni natte shimattan darou?' and Koda Kumi tried an american candy style song called 'Lick me'. Summer seems to be the time for experimentation and fans tend to either love it or hate it.

'Sunrise' and 'Sunset' are the same song. 'Sunrise' is the upbeat version while 'Sunset' is the ballad version. I like both but it's not a song I've listened to on repeat. It seems to be an excellent song you'd want to hear at a concert (perfect for a-nation) but not really a radio hit. 'Sunset' is a more playable version than 'Sunrise' in my opnion.

Overall, I can't say I'm upset over this single because I'm not a fan who loves all of Ayumi's songs, but I really admire her work and have high respect for her talents. This is just another step in her musical future. Her music always tends to grow on me later. ^_^ So, I'd still recommend this to Ayumi fans.

Just speaking the truth. Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
When I found out that Ayu was going to release a new single this summer, I was ecstatic. For one, Ayu's music never fail to amaze me because I literally enjoy every single song that she ever released; from "Poker Face" up to all the songs that she released in "NEXT LEVEL." However, "Sunrise/Sunset" was a hundred steps behind her usual releases. When I first heard the song, I was disappointed although I tried to make myself enjoy, because, being an Ayu fan, I gotta like it, right? But somehow I cannot make myself enjoy it as much as I wanted to.

The composer who wrote this song is not making us happy. Somehow Ayu let it slip and chose this song to release after her 10th album and it turned out not to be one of the amazing songs she used to release.

And I agree with the previous review about Ayu's cover art in this album. When I first saw it here on YesAsia, I thought it was badly photoshopped and it doesn't look like the usual beautiful Ayu album covers.

I really hope Ayu will choose better songs to sing in her next single, or better, if she picks up her pen-name CREA and compose us a couple of songs for her 11th album!

Another great single! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
When I first listened to "Sunrise ~LOVE is ALL~", I didn't really like it, but after watching it's PV (which is, for the first time for Ayu, kinda a live performance), I started liking it. It's got a good rhymth and is quite addictive.
"Sunset ~LOVE is ALL~", which is the ballad version of "Sunrise ~LOVE is ALL~", is much better. I liked it from the beginning, this song is better as a ballad than as an upbeat one.
Both videos are great. "Sunrise ~LOVE is ALL~" shows Ayu with her dancers and fans and creates a real good mood, Ayu brings joy and just makes you smile. The blue color which fills the PV also creates a calming feeling. The PV to "Sunset ~LOVE is ALL~" is the same but without the fans and it's in red. I prefere this one, it looks really really beautiful and makes you dream.
In total, "Sunrise ~LOVE is ALL~" gets 7/10 and its PV 6/10 and "Sunset ~LOVE is ALL~" 9/10 and its PV 8/10.

It's totally worth buying this single!

Ayumi Hamasaki, one of the most influencial popstars of all times... something really hard to notice in her latest single Sunrise/Sunset ~LOVE is ALL~. Every style seemed to suit this pop star; success was part of her daily routine. Now, those days seem so long far ago. Her new single is basically generic (summer single), something that didn't use to bother fans and casual listeners. But maybe this time, the lack of creativity, small budget(?), and maybe the tiredness of the singer and her team gave birth to one of the weakest materials I have ever seen coming out from her. The covers were the first signs of how bad this single was going to be. The extremely photoshopped cover pictures that hardly look like Hamasaki did not make any fan happy. The songs are nothing special, and the videoclips are a lot to wish for.

Many fans and people assume that she's ready to take a break after 10 years and more of musical career, I personally agree with all of them. We love Hamasaki, but she needs to get back on her feet and comeback stronger than ever after sometime away from the spotlight.

This is yet another wonderful single by Ayu. I really enjoy this one very much. The songs are really rather different sound than I've ever heard from her, but its a fresh enjoyable summer single to help really keep me in summer state-of-mind despite mother nature doesn't seem to be agreeing. The PVs are also very nice and well done. Plus, the remix was really cool. The only thing I thought could've been a bit better was the cover. She could've looked a little better on it. Aside from that, it's a wonderful single to remind you there's still time to catch waves at the beach before the leaves begin to change color fall. Highly Reccomended.
