Time for 2PM
2PM was outshone by SHINee last year in the battle of the rookie boy bands, but they're getting their time in the limelight with their second single album 2:00PM Time For Change.

Written, composed, and arranged by daddy JYP, their red-hot #1 single Again & Again is pretty much a surefire hit from the first note to the last. Particularly notable for the fluid electronic beats and pounding bass that serve as intro, outro, and catchy backing for the entire song, Again & Again is an urban dance track that embraces the K-pop mantra of being both hip-pop edgy and completely chart-friendly at the same time. The song gets stuck in the head pretty easily since the "again and again" part is repeated, er, again and again, but the smooth, low-key melody and relatively soft vocal arrangement keep the track from treading into the borderline annoying territory of other recent heavy-on-repetition K-pop superhits.

Again & Again isn't as fresh or distinctive as 2PM's fun debut single 10 out of 10, but it's a stronger, more well-rounded release. Less mischief and more melody also mean less of the inconsistencies that were present in 10 out of 10, which was either fabulous or awkward depending on which part of the song you were listening to. The rapping in Again & Again is still on the weak side for a group of their style, but the vocal performance has clearly improved, and there's not much to complain about in terms of the song itself as it's clearly a JYP winner. The R&B remix version of Again & Again actually does better justice to the song's composition by toning down the chorus for a cleaner sound, although less digital effects on the vocals would have been even better.

Less digital effects and fancy electronic beats would have also helped "Hate You" (Track 3), an otherwise great uptempo R&B and electronic track. The song follows more of a Big Bang style in its arrangement, but with less rapping and more lyrical flourish. Even the rapping sounds Big Bang-esque, though that's not a bad thing. Written, composed, and arranged by FAME-J, uptempo ballad "Might Come Back" (Track 4) is the song that has grown on me the most from the single album. The song changes in tone quite a bit from one section to the next, stepping back in the R&B verses and laying on vocals and beats in the chorus, but flows well overall. The vocal performance in "Might Come Back" is probably the strongest out of the three songs on the album, and the rapping is the best I've heard from the group thus far.

All three songs on 2:00PM Time For Change have high replay value, so I'm looking forward to seeing what 2PM can do with a full-length album. It's no secret that 2AM got the singers and 2PM got the dancers and lookers (and Jun Su), but they're actually doing better than expected in the singing department. The disparity in vocal talent among the group members isn't as great as in some other idol groups, and their songs have been very well produced to play to the group members' strengths and down-to-earth charisma. Besides, out of the newer boy bands 2PM make the best variety show goofs, sure signs of survival in the Korean entertainment world.

LOVE THIS, WORTH EVERY BIT OF MONEY Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
ill be honest, i only bought the album because of jaebeom, as there isnt much merchandise left with him included. and it arrived today, first of all, it was very well secured (great :D) and not damaged one bit, it comes with lots of pictures and if you dont understand korean like me, dont be too upset because jays and nichkhuns thank yous are mostly written in english :)
the songs are amazingly catchy, it is definitely the best 2pm album by far as it has 7 members and includes there best songs :) definitely recommend this to major hottest fans like myself :) however if you are not too concerned about having jay on the cover, i recommend you buy the heartbeat album instead as it is more worthit because it includes some of these songs on it too. though i prefer this one more :)

What Time Is It Now ? ...Its 2PM ! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This album is jam-packed with amazing songs
which comes with their concept changes into beast ~ >:]

All 4 tracks + 4 instrumentals are VERY VERY VERY good stuff ^^
"Again & Again" was their first #1 hit.
I'd say, it's the best song they ever produced :)
Amazing singing and choreography at the same time

"Hate U" is their follow up track. Another great track.
With its light drum base and great group work
of 2PM, also i'd highly recommend this song :D

All of the other tracks are amazing as well (:
Depends what genre you're into,
either way you'll like all of them !

Onto the CD itself.
From the cover it is damn amazing >:]
the pictures are very nice, and when you open the cd
theres the case on one side as usual

and then the photobooklet ~
Inside there are ALOT of
high quality pictures of the group & individual members

topping it off with their thanks to msg in a great structure
which looks awesomes once you see it for yourself ! :P

ABSOLUTELY great album this is, i'd recommend to all
kpop fans. Try it out for yourself :)

Times Do Change Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Out of the two 2.00 o’clock K-pop JYP B-boy band boy leaders (bit of a tongue twister that), Jeabeom and Jo Kwon, its Jo Kwon from 2AM that’s took my attention. Mainly due to JK’s very funny dance antics on a TV show in front of his ‘bride’ Ga-in from BEG, dancing like a cross between Jarvis Cocker from Pulp and Mr Bean and it’s a miracle Ga-In didn’t have to run promptly to the ladies for laughing too much! Yes, 2AM’s Jo Kwon is a very funny and talented guy and brilliant together with shy and funny girl Ga-In (I’ve certainly seen Ga-In in a new light now. Like how she doesn’t give a fig about looking kooky or anything - that’s my cool, I mean, Jo Kwon’s girl!). Give them more show time, somebody! But to 2PM’s second single (I don’t have a 2AM CD to review yet!). The single is mainly “Again and Again” written and arranged by JYP with two versions, the main plug and a more slower bass-drum predominant R&B version, along with an instrumental of the original. “Again and Again” as a good light mid-paced electronic hip hop melody with gentle ‘raindrop’ synth and rap near the finish. T3 is an interchange of slow ballad and rapid drumbeat with T4 a ballad. Mostly, 2PM’s single is a gentle collection of K-pop boy band sensibilities (TVXQ, SS501) and love songs with interpolated amounts of rap and hip-hop.

Its unfortunate Jeobeom is no longer with 2PM and being an admirer of K-pop more than any given band (although BEG and Kara have won me over), I can sympathise with hardcore 2PM fans over an important member no longer gracing the band. But I’m sure the music and style of future 2PM releases will win the day, even if the boys are called “Meridian” or something to start afresh! Some given grace here with a bit of tongue in cheek wit to cheer fans up, within a number of rock songs I’ve been playing lately that may ironically reflect the situation. For 2PM fans “Since You Been Gone” by Rainbow for the fan’s heartache rendered by Jeabeom leaving 2PM, “Here I Go Again” by Whitesnake for the thoughts from Jeabom himself and (more whimsically) “Run To The Hills” by Iron Maiden for poor Mr JYP and the ‘fun’ he's getting at the moment. JYP doesn’t desire Jeabeom to go and probably feels like Homer Simpson. JYPE’s 50% contribution is the foundation for 2PM or WG. Time for Change, but everything that goes around, comes around again (think of rock bands that have split up and reformed!). All I can say is patience, love and peace and God bless you all!

10 Out of 10 Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
2pm's album always have a great case and is very unique. I love how all the members have a specific section to write about how thankful they were. It shows how much 2pm has heart. The songs are all very catchy and this is a great single album. Jyp truly is the best composer of Asia.

Buy It~ Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This album is definitely worth the money (not that it's expensive in the first place). You can tell there is major improvement since the last album. Again & Again and I Hate You are so catchy... gahh~

Came with a nice glossy photo book which is a super bonus, woohoo!

Certainly won't regret this. Anticipating the next album :]
