Great Movie
I really like this one. It's a great drama with a heart touching romance. Theirs even some great fight scenes. And yeah I'm a guy, this was my first Chinese movie that didn't have so much focus on fighting. I think everybody did a great job in this movie, especially the couple and Sammo Hung. Definitely worth a buy IMO.

Deserves praise
"Somebody Up There Likes Me", directed by Patrick Leung, is definitely one of the top dramas made in Hong Kong cinema. Aaron was highly praised for the performance he gave in this film, probably one of his best. A beautiful plot contributes to this beautiful drama, and intricate choreography in boxing will please the kung-fu movie fans. In the boxing aspect, "Somebody Up There Likes Me" gained much credibility with the superb performance by Sammo Hung, who fit his character as Aaron's coach and friend, perfectly. Carmen Lee also gave an extraordinary performance. To add to this, multiple relationships are woven together in a perfect web of a truly memorable movie. There were few flaws and the movie was extremely well shot, the plot well displayed, and characters well-developed. Cinematagrophy lacks in the VCD, however the DVD is NTSC (all-regions) and the quality is exceptional. Choreography was superb; Aaron trained for a long time for this movie, which grossed 1,500,000US in HK within its third week. Great cinematography, choreography, storyline, boxing, and actors are all brought up a notch with the directing of Patrick Leung, who used perfect camera angles and shot the movie well. It's only 8.25 - definitely worth your money as one of the best dramas in HK cinema. - Priscilla

aaron is such a good kisser...=p
I've seen this movie back in 1995...and I saw it over and over and over again...this movie is worth buying because well it's good...but then I didn't like all the blood...and Aaron spitting out blood and all that stuff...it was for this movie he cut his hair short like that...which I thinks looks best on him...because before this Aaron had the long almost shoulder length hair...and before that...it was the mushroom...I loved the way he looked in here...and the bed scene with him and Carmer Lee is pretty long...if you're a fan that doesn't like Aaron doing that stuff...then fast foward...it's during 1/2 the movie...lolz...I remember that...xp...ne ways...Aaron's a good kisser...I wonder where he learned...lolz...anyways the story is alright...I would have given it a 10 except that Aaron got his butt kicked and too much blood~~~ -

The best!
This is the best HK movie I ever saw. I have the VCD version and wish to own the DVD version too, only if YesAsia drop the price a bit ;) This movie is very emotional and dramatic. Aaron and Carmen are so cute and the chemistry between them is very strong. Alot of blood in the movie also. If you like drama, I recommend you this one!
