The official film produced by the China Central Television (CCTV) comes on 3 DVDs documenting the massive celebrations held in Beijing on October 1, 2009 for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Captured in high definition using first-rate recording equipment, this video collection preserves the events of that day in the best picture and sound quality. The Military Parade alone, which involved the People's Liberation Army and the display of the country's most advanced weapons, was shot from 57 camera angles. Also held at the Tiananmen Square, the Evening Gala and fireworks display was directed by revered filmmaker Zhang Yimou, who famously choreographed the splendid Opening Ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In addition, the third English-subtitled DVD includes archived footage from previous National Day Military Parades.
