quite touching

same thing i didnt expect much from this movie. watched it for Jeff Chang. however, to my surprise, the movie is rather moving intellectual film as the 2 ill fated lovers go thru the test of time.....from their 20s to 50s. Zhou Xun is really an excellent actress and jeff is ok for a first time actor. his acting gets better as the movie progresses. hrd jeff is acting in a new movie currently as a mafia leader! its called "Nana Run" and it also stars Zhou Xun and Daniel Wu. |

ugh, COKE???
| I bought this movie soley because of Jeff Chang and I had very little expectations of it being any good, and it's just about what I expected. The pacing is very slow and very little happened. The actors' performances were good. But I'm sure the book (which I didn't read) is much better than the movie, as they almost always are. If you are a fan of Jeff Chang, get it, but otherwise, you'll be disappointed. But if you are a fan, expect to satisfy your curiosity and nothing more. The last scene was clearly a coke product placement as the main character sentimentally downs a bottle in one breath. I'm sure Zhou Xuen was clearly instructed "make sure that the coke bottle label is facing exactly at the camera" ;) |
