Opposites attract in the lighthearted romantic Korean TV drama A Prince's First Love. Movie star Cha Tae-Hyun (My Sassy Girl, Lover’s Concerto) teams up with popular actress Sung Yu-Ri (One Fine Day, The Snow Queen) to present an endearing romance that takes viewers from the wintry snowscape of Hokkaido to the balmy shores of Tahiti.

Gun-Hee (Cha Tae-Hyun) is an arrogant hotel heir enjoying a carefree life of luxury. His world is thrown upside down when he meets Yu-Bin (Sung Yu-Ri), a penniless waitress who dreams of becoming a tour guide. Won over by Yu-Bin's cheerful personality and passion for life, Gun-Hee begins to change his ways. Yu-Bin, however, only has eyes for Sung-Hyun (Kim Nam-Jin, Lover’s Concerto, Tropical Nights in December), a handsome, career-driven businessman who barely knows she exists.

I love this show Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is a happy and sad show but mostly happy. When I am a doctor's office and have to endure painful procedures,
I bring two favorite Korean shows in mind:This show and somethign happened in Bali. I try to remember bits and peices
of the stories, the beautiful secneries. Once a doctor was cutting on my face and he was puzzled that I did not move at all. I
almost told him that I was going to laugh out loud when I remember a funny scene but I was afraid to move and make
the doctor's knife slip. Who would have thought these Korean shows can serve medical purposes?

Started off lame but finished well. Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
This drama started off lame but finished well. There were so many unnecessary overly-cheesy scenes in the beginning, and a lot of flashbacks in the middle until towards the end of the series. But surprisingly despite all that I never even thought of not finishing the drama. The plot of A Prince's First Love works so well that it kept me glued until the end, eagerly awaiting the ending. Unlike most dramas where one can easily predict the outcome - who ends up with who, this one will keep you guessing until the very end.

The main actress lead did not act well and have noticeably a lot of annoying amateurish and overly-used facial expressions, but the plot and the other two male actors, plus the drama's amazing soundtrack made up for this.

A decent (not excellent) series still worth watching from beginning until end.

Uh... Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
    A Prince’s First Love,
Yah, I didn’t like the female lead (of course this is very subjective)… never could I tolerate the lead female as I did her… she was annoying, unsure of what she wanted. It looked to me that she wanted to end up with the Sung Hyun rather than Gun-Hee and she was rather forced by the creators of this drama to end up with the Gun-Hee against her will. Gun-Hee was annoying (a 1st with K- Drama’s lead male actors)… he was whinny, over controlling, sad… need I go on? Sung Hyun was a good thing in the movie... gave it reason...
I’m sorry, this drama didn’t do it for me, and in retrospect I’m surprised I watched it to the end. I did like the DVD menu song… right… I hope you like it better than I did…

Underrated Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Ok, at first I was afraid to watch this drama, since SOOO many people said it wasnt good, and their acting was so bad. But really, only ONE person had bad acting, and that was the cute guy. overall, I thought it was a pretty good drama, and interesting too. Cha Tae Hyun was a MUCH better actor than I thought he was, at first, I thought he couldn't act, since he was so bratty.. and wasnt as good looking. But his character IS a bratty little prince, and his antics were quite funny.
The setting is so beautiful, from the snowy landscapes of Japan, to beautiful tropical Islands and scuba diving. This drama is much more beautiful to watch than I thought. It has such a beautiful setting. In the end, I grew to love cha tae hyun. He brought tears to my eyes. And I believe I did watch this drama again, it was that good.

Wish The Ending Was Different Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
I recently became an avid fan of Korean dramas after I watched several great K-dramas such as My Lovely Sam-Soon, Palace, Sad Love and Stairways to Heaven and loved most of them because of the great stories and characters development. I was looking toward watching this one but found it wanting.

Plenty of beautiful scenes of Japan & Tahiti. Story about personal struggles & family problems are touching. But the lead female lead character, Yu Bin was very exhausting to watch. Love is hard and she seemed to confuse pity with love and doesn't seemed to be able to get out of it! It cast her as an unstable character with no resolve. Wish she was a stronger character and not choose her love by emotion. Cannot understand why she even agree to marry Seung Hyun if she cannot sort out her feelings. Gun Hee's immature behaviors was another irritant in the movie. He doesn't seem to grow up and be a man! I like the character of Seung Hyun because he is the one who truly represents true love to the greatest degree -sacrifice & forgiveness. The ending did not do justice to the story that was developed so far. But maybe that was to produce an unexpected outcome for the audience!
Will not watch it too many times like I did for My Lovely Sam-Soon and Palace!
