not for everyone Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
i liked this movie although i found it a little confusing! unlike hollywood asian horror movies concentrate on atmosphere rather than storyline which i do not mind as most hollywood scary movies are just crap full stop! this film is beautifully shot and very stylish, but have still not found anything to compare to ju-on (the grudge)

one of the best horror movies i've seen Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
i watch a LOT of horror movies, but i have to say that this is one of, if not THE best, i've ever seen. the actors are perfect for the characters they're playing and the story is not one you would easily forget. i enjoyed it because it made me think; as the reviews say, this movie has many different interpretations, and not just one of them is correct. great story, well-written screenplay. keeps you guessing and thinking until the end and even AFTER the movie is done.

Psychological thriller horror movie Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Three genres in one helluva good movie. Those who are confused with this movie are those who watch american popcorn movies too much, the kinda movies that gives you right on the face. This movie makes you think and it's beautiful and it's creepy and it's sad and it really gets under your skin. The actors play their parts very well and brilliantly. The plot? unexplainable, just that's the way it really should be. Even for you who don't watch horror movie, watch it because of the psychological thriller part, you'll love it! Well, I do!

Choking Scene Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
The movie is really confusing but after a while you tend to " see the picture " and draw your own conclusions..
The most scary part is the choking scene where this dinner guest goes into a hysteric frenzy and chokes halfway through the meal.. apparently she sees a girl hiding under the kitchen sideboard. Does anyone know which sister was under that side board?? Was it a ghost or>>>??? The scene is not clear to so.. if anyone of you can comment on that??Just wanna know what's happening here.. I share the choker's hysteria but what does she see??

A tale of two sisters is one of the greatest horro Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
It is great, but I would like to suggest to watch "the uninvited". It is very confusing, but if you like these kind of stories, you should like uninvited also.

Not scary enough. Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
A tale of two sisters was the second korean movie i've seen. There was much hype about it here in Malaysia before, but didn't really took off. anyhow, I saw it through Astro satellite.

first off, the story is about 2 girls, su-mi and su-yeon who came home after a stint in mental institution. we only saw su-mi being diagnosed, but her little sister was no where in sight. the story took off after "they" went home.

a tale of two sisters used minimal background music and the dark atmosphere really helps. halfway through, we could see su-mi was very protective of her younger sister. she should be as theri step mom was phychotic. she took medication given by her quiet and good for nothing husband. at this point we think she was the culprit.

now the story gets confusing. su-mi is in a hospital, her step mom is being nice, and su-yeon is not around.
the ending part was quite interesting as su-mi somehow knows her sister is gone.

A tale of two sisters is not a total scary movie, as those part consists of sudden shocks and eery music. they should've put in more of the scary stuff.

the director jumbled up the storyline to make it interesting, at the same time very frustating. i saw the movie 4 times and yet i still don't get it. someone told me that the first part of the story is from su-mi's imagination. well i leave that to you to decide.

as a whole, i'd recommend a tale of two sisters, but the plot is quite short though.
