The Thin Line Btw the GENIOUS and the PERVERTED
|
As most genius works are easily (but deeply) misunderstood in thier time perhaps because some people are not quite ready to accept them for many different reasons, this BEAUTIFUL film also has a few components that might offend some of us. The lesbian undertone between the two sisters is one. And the possible incestuous relationship between Sumi and her father is the other. The collapse of the seemingly beautiful family is another one. All these components might offend somewhat conservative side in all of us. Some might not even have noticed them since everyone interprets things differently. What's important is that this film has so many layers that it is possible for us the viewers to give meanings that might have not intended by the director. It really doesn't matter how you have viewed this film and what conclusion you've drawn from it. The true beauty of this film lies in the fact that the labyrinth the director has created is flexible enough for each of us to recreate something completely different out of it. To me, it's sheer genius work. I even love the fact that the thin line between the genious and the perverted (or insane) can be detected in this film. Keep your eyes on the director, Kim Ji Woon's future work. |

what i think..
|
the movie was nice, allthru i think there was no killer, the problem lies on the girl who is mentally sick, her hatred on her stepmother have become her shadow in her mind, because her mom and sister death was cause by her stepmom.so when she back to the old house, she have imaginary of her stepmother and her sister was around her,but they are not there at all.is her who imagine it,so the torturing of her sister and killing was all in her imagination,i found out, from the begiining, her father did not talk with her younger sister and her step mom, this shown they not exist to others but her, three time her father told her to let go and dont mention about the closet.this was a setting of fimography. at night the conversation of her father with her stepmom was on the phone,so when all the flashback came while she is in hospital,we can see all the stepmom action and behavior from the first was all her imagination and thinking, when a shot shown a woman face on mirror is mean they have psycology problem, well, firstly her stepmom was on the shot on mirror, lastly herself was on it,this shown that they both have mind problem,so the last shot let us know that her mom was commit suicide and her sister was ignore and die later after her stepmom left quietly away from that room. (well this is what i seen in the movie) hope i did not say anything wrong that make u guys out there angry.if so,please forgive me..thankx |

Confusing, but scary
| This was a good scary film, although I was confused the ENTIRE TIME! I never knew exactly what was going on and I still can't explain the majority of it. This movie is good if you like to be freaked out, although I wish it could have come together better at the end. |

Great Movie
| This movie was very well made...I didn't feel as if it were just a typical psycho-thriller or horror movie. It actually had a story line to it...and everything came pretty much together at the end. Overall, I would recommend this movie to anyone!! ^_______^ |
