Worth a trip down memory lane...

The first of Andy Lau's two Mandarin releases in 1994, "Water to Forget Love" is a worthy addition to your CD collection. The album smashed sales records upon its release, largely on the strength of its hit single, "Water to Forget Love," which is still a karaoke staple and one of Lau's best known tunes. The title track deserves its status in the Cantopop pantheon; it's an elegantly orchestrated love ballad with poetic lyrics that plays to Lau's strengths as a crooner. The rest of the album is hardly filler; songs like "Sentimental," "Sour Heart," and "You Are My Tenderness" create a romantic atmosphere poignant with longing. Lau's vocals are noticeably improved in this release compared with past albums; he displays a dark richness in his singing that propels his ballads into heart-breakingly emotional territory. A good thing, considering that the disc is comprised mostly of slow and mid-tempo ballads, the Spanish-flavoured "Sour Heart" not withstanding. The only fast song, "Infatuation," is something of a misstep; dull and repetitive, it should have been omitted. A wonderful album, stirring and romantic, featuring Lau's best vocals to date. Recommended. |

i thought is no this one
| i have bought one of the andy's album and is no this one and i think the newerst one is the one with the ten photos ....anyway all his cd is nice i like his song |
