Yay MoMusu! I love this CD. One of their best albums (4th Ikimasshoi wins it for me ^^). I found this when I was clearing under my bed, I thought I had lost it! So I had another listen, and it's still great. Filled with uplifting and feel-good songs. True Morning Musume style! But.. don't stop listening after the first few songs like I did! (Mistake ¬¬). The album gets better and better and like myself you will find yourself humming all the songs :). I honestly advise you to buy this if you havent even though its fairly old now, its still great music :D. |

(0o0)-!!!
| Ok, let's just say that this is momusu's best album to date. Every single song is catchy and sounds good. The only thing that's technically bad is that they didn't put on all the singles that were released from after "No.5" till this one, but all of those songs were on the momusu "best!2" cd, so it doesn't matter( it would've been a waste to put them on another cd don't you think?) I don't know how else to praise this cd, it's just really good. |

Good old Morning Musume again!
|
Finally, a real album from Morning Musume in almost 2 years! This album debuted at #5 on the Oricon Charts in Japan, but that doesn't mean that it's not a really good album; it's full of what Morning Musume and Hello Project fans are expecting from their favourite band! Track 1, "Namida Ga Tomaranai Houkago" was their most recent single, which managed to get a #2 debut on the Oricon charts. This song is a mellow, upbeat ballad. Track 2 is "Sukiyaki". The only way I can describe this is a mix of "Piriri To Ikou" by Berryz Koubou with a country music feeling (thing "Cow Girl" by Bambee). Track 3, "Haru No Uta" is sung only by Kaori, Mari, Rika, and Yossi. It's a slow r&b tune, reminiscent of the "Venus Mousse" song from their 5th album "No.5". Track 4 is "Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari", the last single that featured Kago & Tsuji. This song is easily the best (and longest) song on the album. Very upbeat, very danceable; VERY Morning Musume! Track 5 "Chokkan Toki To Shite Koi Wa" sounds a lot like a Power Rangers theme song or battle tune. It's also got some Conga feeling to it as well. It's not something traditionally Hello Project, but also one of the better songs on the album. Track 6 is "Dousenkyoku". This is my personal favourite on the album. It's a heavy R&B tune, kinda like a mix of "Get Up Rapper" by Salt 5 and "Do It! Now" by Morning Musume. Track 7, "Lemon Iro To Milk Tea" is a traditional bubbly-happy-jpop song sung by the 5th and 6th generation members (including Miki). It reminds me of traditional Morning Musume (pre-5th gen) and kinda like "Hajimete No Happy Birthday" by Country Musume ni Ishikawa Rika. Track 8 is "Roman My Dear Boy". One of the 3 songs on this album that are from their spring musical, this one was the first single after Natsumi Abe's departure from the band. A rock song with a message, it'll have you hooked from the first listen. Track 9, "Koe" is a slow, but happy ballad. It's very mellow and plain. Not one of my favourite songs on the album, but very good vocals are produced in this song. A clear album track filler song. Track 10 is "Help!!" which is pretty much the same thing as the EcoMoni song "Help Achi Chikyu Wo Samasunda" (available on Petit Best 5) but more rock, as if it were to the same melody as Roman My Dear Boy. This is also another song performed in their spring musical, but re-recorded to have equal vocals in the band as opposed to only certain members (ie: Sayumi and Rika). Track 11 is "Ship To The Future!" and it is very reminiscent of "Dekkai Uchuu Ni Ai Ga Aru" but more modern. Seeing as "Dekkai..." has been an overused song in Hello Project this year, you will either love this one or hate it (I'm the latter). The third song on this album that has been re-recorded from their musical, this time taking the lead away from Rika and Risa who sung the original, now the vocals are balanced throughout the band. Still a good song nonetheless! Track 12 is "Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari 2". It's a re-recording of the original "Joshi..." but Tsunku (their producer) does narration at parts in the songs. This song doesn't involve band members, but random stories made up. I consider it a bad, poorly produced version of "Joshi..." but it is their most popular single this year! All in all, it's a very good album. Most surprising is the balance of vocals (no it's not just Miki singing anymore; Risa sings a LOT too!) and traditional feel of Morning Musume as opposed to always trying to keep up with the times. Buy it today! You won't regret it! The limited edition comes with a Hello Project photo card and a B3 sized calendar-poster! |
