Michael Hui is a news anchor in the film who becomes famous because of a robbery case. The TV station takes advantage of the situation and spread the news of him suffering from cancer to boost up the penetration rate. His family thought that the news is a piece of hoax created to make money, and only he himself knows that this is real. His wife (Josephine Siao) even helps him out in earning more with his "fake" medical condition, which leads to non-stop hilarious events! Deep down the film, Hui still shows his social concerns which are found in many of his works, and this time he also adds a depiction of familial affection.

　　“Always On My Mind” 1993 is about self-discovery of a man after being diagnosed with an incurable disease. Michael Hui plays the title role as the coward newscaster-turned-opportunistic-moneygrubber, with much help from his “beloved” family. “Always On My Mind” is a vicious satire that exposes the media industry as somewhat fraudulent, weak, and shallow. All these end up to a rare comedy with a refined combination of laughter’s with tears and happiness with sorrow.
