December 10, 2007 Just the same music styleThis album is better than the previous album (The Poet's Tears). I like his duet with Julia Peng (track 2). What a romantic song! The song Don't Ask (track 10) is a refurbish song by Jacky Cheung more than 10 years ago and I think this kind of song isn't match with Chris' voice. Unfortunately, Chris' music style in this album is just the same with the previous albums. He isn't brave enough to try the new music style. If he does, I believe he will be more famous. Real usually to be the backing vocal in all F.I.R. album, except a song in Flight Tribe Album. But I think he's a talented musician, since almost all of the songs in this album were written by him. January 1, 2007 A New PerformanceSetting in the Tang Dynasty era, this film is full of revenges, loves, ambitions, and war strategy although the last one is only just a little. This is the classic first film of Jay. His acting as Prince Jay here is quite good, so do the other characters. The theme song, Crysanthemum Platform, is also an romantic and easy-listening song with the classical Chinese instrument, guzheng. I like it very much. Did you find this review helpful? In this album, his singing style is not much different but the music style is different. However, it is still have the unique style of high-pitched of Jeff's vocal singing that other singer don't have. The best song here of course Be Your Man, followed by Shanghai Girl which is full of Chinese oriental instrument, and Lie. March 27, 2006 Good achievementAfter waiting for a long time (more than one year) after his last album has been released on October 2004 (The First Ten Thousand Days), I'm very satisfied when I heard a news that Chris has released his new album. As same as before, love is the main theme of his album. He has such a talent in writing very romantic lyric! And I like it. This album is very good, good job for you, Chris. It's indicated that Chris isn't only a talented singer but also an excellent songwriter. I'm really enjoy it, especially Shi Ren De Yan Lei, it's very touching. It's quite good and excellent but unfortunately the plot story has a little bit confusing and impossible. The Chinese speech by Hiroyuki Sanada isn't good, I suppose, there are misspell of Chinese words by him and I think he should improve more his Chinese. March 20, 2006 It's not related with the true storyIn general, this film is quite good. But unfortunately, hearsay, many Chinese people in the mainland Chinese rejected this film. It's because the plot story of this film and the fact are not related. Huo Yuanjia was not come from a rich family and he had many children (In this film, he was told that he had only one daughter and she died).
