September 16, 2006 Predictable unfortatnly!I had high expectations since November Chopin (his last album) was one of my favorite last year.
The music is really good and the lyrics too. The one thing that disturbs me is that all songs are ballads. After listen to the album three or four times I just cant help to think that I've listen to the same song for about 50 minutes. The first song blowed me away and i thought that this was gonna be best male album of the year but after that its just slow. One of the songs in the middle of the album is some kind of duet and my instant feeling was that the song is more sung by the other guy.
Jay has a GREAT voice and use it very well. The music is great and suits him well but its boring. If you are a fan of him you'll like this but i feel that it could be something more. Its more suited for ballads. Anyway Nanairo no ashita is so popish you can even smell the pinkcoloured gum. It sounds just like the BoA we are used to, no fan should be dissapointed if what you wanted was a typical BoA-song. But isnt this getting boring? ... I really DON'T like the fact that almost all the b-sides from the japanese singles are on this album, the only one missing, is the only song that I liked - Before you said goodbye to me. I feel deceived with this album, I already own the previous singles, which only leave me with six new songs.
Anyway, five of them are okey, Cosmic eyes and Silent screamerz with the typical happy-pop-BoA-sound. Love is just what you can't see, Stay my gold and First snow - three new semiballads. None of them are particulary bad but even if I really try to like it, they all feels like elevatormusic and that I've heard this before.
Outgrow ~Ready butterfly~ is probably the worst song ever. BoA is sounding as someone is trying to choke her (maybe its me) and the music is really loud. I cant stand.
The old songs suits quite well and I have to admit that I gave some of the b-sides some more listenings.
Everlasting and Do the motion is the ones saving this album from beeing a total waste.
Maybe BoA is lost, all the songs feels like they are pulling away from each other. Please deciede on a style BoA, and work with that. You can't do it all.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

As for the look I have to say that yesasias pic of the little monkey is not entirely correct. The fabric is far more "lightorange" and the face of my monkey is smaller.

White Light is just a xmas song with bells and all the xmassound that every xmas song contains, that and nothing more. Then I was cought up by the xmas spirit and I was hooked. I like her soft voice and it suits perfect to this kind of song.
Violet sauce, a dancebeat song. Not a single xmasbeat in the whole song! I had to give this song a couple of listenings and now its stuck in my head.
If you like the beat and "feeling" in her Queen of hiphop, im sure you'll like this one as well.

A typical OLD BoA song, but I dont want old BoA songs. I want something new and something suitable for 2005. This feels old.
The B-side track I really like and that is the song I will remember from this single.
Unfortantly I have to say that Im not pleased with these songs or Make a secret. I would be a lot more happy if BoA took some serious time in the studio not just one day singing one song release and then do it again a couple of months later. I'd rather wait for a fully album with some thought and hardwork behind then get two sloppy produced songs. I surley hope that the announced single Everlasting will be better ....

Rock'n roll version is my personal favorite. I feel the music does the work here. Feels more pop.
Ballad just a slower version of the song I dont think the lyrics are suited for a ballad but still I cant get it out of my head. Thanks Sona for the great tripple! Buy it love it! ^_^

The only problem with that is that she sounds more and more just like everybody else who sings rnb.
I know that her earlier popstyle is really mainstream but she stood out since she's got the voice of an angel and no one can deny that this girl can dance.
The songs on this single aint bad they just dont catch the listener, they are well produced and she sings better than the GOT album.
