亞俊（黃日華）是一位大學講師，與大學生Ann相戀後結婚，誕下子William。後來Ann患重病逝世，在Ann臨死前亞俊發誓以後不再結識女子。由於俊太愛妻子，未能忘記，在朋友心理醫生建議下，與子到大嶼山居住。
在這�堙A透過方伯結識他孫女Rose（尹慧芝），大家互生情愫。但Rose已有未婚夫，而俊也向亡妻許下承諾，最後得到方伯及William相助下，兩人成為情侶。
在俊生日時，俊舊同事Beanca替Ann臨死交托她送上生日卡予俊，俊看後深感內疚，決正跟Rose分手。Rose傷心下跟前男友翌日離開傷心地；最後在子之勸阻下，俊惘然大悟，但追趕至機場時，Rose已經離去。
九個月後，Rose寄給William一張明信片，說她身在南非，最後俊及William一起出發到南非……
