YesAsia Editorial Description

Based on Masamune Shirow's acclaimed manga, APPLESEED is a haunting and thrilling vision of an apocalyptic future in which human life is slowly being controlled by a new breed of Biodroids, creatures that are half android, half man. In this future, the remnants of the world's governments create a city named Olympus near the Canary Islands designed to be a utopia. However, this utopia is controlled by the Biodroids, and soon the human population have had enough. Rallying together a band of terrorists, the humans decide that they must destroy Gaia, the computer that runs Olympus, thereby freeing themselves and delivering a fatal blow to the reeling superpowers.

Stiff and ultra-violent Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
When it originally was released, "Appleseed" was hailed for its mixture of traditional hand-drawn and computer-generated animation. I don't get it. To me, the mixture is jarring and weird. The human characters are lifeless and stiff; the look of the androids appears to have been given much more care and attention. In addition, the movements of the characters is unnatural. In short, this film has the look and feel of an ultra-violent video game. And, believe me, I don't intend that as a compliment.

Eswatwrong...!?? Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
If you are reading this review from me I will tell you that I'm still jacket up from the quality of this anime in 3D almost everything is perfect only some background music is missing in the cantonese version thats all, so watch the cantonese version first to understand whats happening, and then enjoy the japanese version because the voice in ther is perfect match with the animation and you have the background music with it the begin and the ending are the créme de la créme...

What happened? Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
I bought this product because of the Cantonese version. I wasn't too happy with it because as soon as I start watching it, I notice something was missing. That something was the music to Appleseed. There was the Cantonese translation which was pretty well done. The sound effect is great, but there was no music to go with the movie in the Cantonese version. Without the music it just wasn't a good movie experience. There is nothing wrong with the movie. I gave it a 6 on the rating simply because of missing music in the Cantonese translation. I've tried watching it in the original Japanese language with Chinese subtitle but I don't understand all the words and can't read that fast in Chinese. Overall if you are looking for the Cantonese language, it is there, but without the music to go with, this product gets a six.

the bomb Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Although a normal story line with little power, its superb music and action sequence makes up for it. The animation was really well done nothing u have ever seen.
