モンテカルロのジャズ祭に行く予定の楽団員が、孫を預かることになった。実は保育所の間違えで赤ちゃんを取り違えていたのだが、本人はそうとは知らずに、"楽団員の誰かの落とし子"として演奏旅行に連れて行く。この赤ちゃんは、本当はアメリカのスター女優と有名ピアニスト夫妻の子供だった。2人は夫婦仲は険悪だが、互いに子供を取り戻そうと必死になっていて…。
有名人夫婦の子供をめぐってモンテカルロが大騒動に巻き込まれていく、フランスらしい小粋でオシャレなコメディ・ドラマ。オードリー・ヘップバーンが「ローマの休日」でスターになる2年前の作品で、ブレイク後にはあまり見られない、向うっ気の強い役柄を好演している。映像特典として、オリジナル予告編が収録されている。
