September 7, 2008 Prob her best album yet
I find her voice very sexy. I'll never get bored of it.
This album has a good selection of songs that can match up to those in her very first album.
My favorites are 'Honey' and 'Traffic Lights'.

February 18, 2007 Dark and coolOne of the unlikely moments where the main character is a bad guy (from a certain point of view). The manga story is different from any other manga I've read before and the director has done a very good job in making this live action flick. Actor selection was pretty well handled: my gosh, L looks just like he's jumped out from the manga and into the real world!
The story is dark, intelligent, and unpredictable: although it is not 100% faithful to the manga.
This movie will appeal to many people: manga lovers, anime fans, or the average movie-goer. Thumbs-up!

February 18, 2007 Dramatic & emotional
One of the most tragic and saddest endings ever in anime history. Although the OVAs do not follow the manga, they offer a more realistic alternative ending to the series that is sure to move you to tears before the credits roll.
Animation is MUCH better than in the tv series, giving a more life-like appearance to the characters and much more violent, bloody battles. Most importantly, the soundtrack to this is simply beautiful. Each piece of BGM fits the mood perfectly and is definately one of the best anime soundtracks ever (one of which I'm seriously considering buying the soundtrack cd).
Many Kenshin fans reject this masterpiece as it is not faithful to the manga; which is a shame since, putting the latter aside, this ova series is simply one of the most beautiful creations in the anime world.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

February 17, 2007 The version to buy!This is it! I didn't buy the first release so that I'd buy this uncut version instead.
I can see why they cut the Michelle Yeoh parts, since those parts were truly irrelevant to the story. But to cut the revelation-in-the-village scene was pure madness! What was the director thinking?

February 17, 2007 Innovative moments!
Similar to Phoenix Wright: minus the murder and the branching-scenario selection. The story involves getting to the bottom of a mystery about how each character in the story are connected.
The environments are in 3D; the chracters are 2D. The control system is very innovative in that you hold the ds vertically like a note book (as in Brain Training) creating a very detective-like mood.
Difficulty of puzzles range from ridiculously easy to no-way-I'd-ever-think-of-that level: one puzzle actually involves closing your ds and re-opening it!
Possible downsides:
1. Like Phoenix Wright, a lot of reading is involved.
2. You'll be seeing the game-over screen quite a lot because, even if you take in all the info, there are many 50-50 moments and one mistake ends it all.
On the plus side, the story is quite good and the style of gameplay is very involving and unique.
If you liked Phoenix Wright, then you should be pleased with this too.

February 10, 2007 TalentedI took notice of Yui's music after hearing a couple of amazing theme songs from the Bleach anime series: namely 'Rolling Star' and 'Life'. Thereafter, I decided to check-out the rest of her music. This girl is simply talented at song writing and is gifted with a sweet, beautiful voice. Her music is so catchy, it has to be heard to believe.
My fav is Good-bye days.

January 14, 2007 Not his best work,but decent.After listening through the whole album once, I decided that there were only 2 songs that caught my attention : tracks 3 & 5. I found track 3 interesting because it sounded very classy. Track 5 is simply beautiful and is obviously of the hit-song type.
All the other tracks required more time to get into, with tracks 2, 4 , 6 and 10 slowly getting my recognition. I feel that track 1 is slightly overrated, however. The popularity of the song owes much to the tv series it was made theme-song to.

January 14, 2007 Cool Martial Arts ActionI honestly didn't expect this movie to be this good! Why not? Firstly, none of the big HK names are present and the main character is the lesser-known Wu Jing from SPL. Secondly, the inclusion of actors such as Cookie members and Ronald Cheng seemed to work against the seriousness in the presentation of the film.
Only after watching the film I realised how mistaken I was. The story was very realistic and captivating as we watch the hero plunge deeper and deeper into the darker side of society. Wu Jing's martial arts were excellent with mind-blowing technique. His Cantonese is off, but it suits the role as he plays a mainland chinese who has arrived in HK. Cookies members Theresa and Miki put in a decent effort also. However, I feel it would've been better if they were replaced by more mature looking ladies: they both still look too young for their roles. Ronald Cheng provides the movie with great moments of comic relief. His humour actually worked very well for this movie: thumbs up!
Obviously a low budget film. But with a good plot and jaw-dropping kung-fu, this movie is really worth checking out.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
