September 13, 2006 Love it! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Hitomi's album, Huma Rhythmn, is very futuristic, yet she manages to stay true to her rock roots. My favorite song on this album is Open Mind, which features futuristic vocals and a really cool poprock beat which sounds really futuristic, lol. Why? is also another song I like on here, it's similar to Open Mind, but lacks that same spark. INNER CHILD, a gem I discovered as of late, is a song featuring beautiful orchestra work with a technoish beat, a very great song executed perfectly by hitomi. The best rock song on the album is LOVE 2000, which I believe won a few awards. Overall, this album is a great buy for any hitomi fan or just someone who wants to get away from the overrated Jpop artists popular as of late.

    September 13, 2006 Daisuki yo~ Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This single is a rerecorded, rewritten and rearranged version of Kuroge Wagyuu Joshiotan Yaki 735en, found on the LOVE JAM album. The first song on the single, Kuroge Wagyuu Joshiotan Yaki 680EN is by far the most touching and beautifully composed song she has ever done. It is a very Otsuka Ai-sounding poprock track that makes one just want to sway their head to the beat.

The second song Hon Marugo Chuutoro Maru Maru En (such a cute title! <3) is a very nice, jazzy type ballad, but not to jazzy as to bore her fans. It's a very nice, emotional song. But it could take time to get used to.

The third song Tsukune En, is a heavy rock song, mostly instrumental. Me, being a rock fan, thoroughly enjoyed this, but many of her fans wrote it off as "strange" because Ai only sings once in the entire song, which happens at the beginning with a piano.

The PV for Kuroge Wagyuu is so adorable. Ai-chan plays a little devil and the part where she squeezes the lemon is hilarious. Too cute.

Overall, GREAT BUY!! Get it now!

September 13, 2006 Goin to CHINA! Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Texas, the first song on the single, is a cute little jazzy tune reminiscent of MERRY ANDREW and SALLY. It is definitely a wonderful song, couldn't ask for a better single.

Track 2, however, is a ballad which is quite boring and hard to get into. I usually just skip over this track as it does nothing for me.

Trak 3 (Going Back To China, a cover, I believe) is my favorite song on the single! It is very 70s disco inspired and makes you just want to get up and dance parapara. Very adorable, especially when Andochan speaks Chinese during certain parts of the song. Her voice is, as always, very pleasant and great to listen to.

It is definitely a must buy for any Ando fan out there!

August 2, 2006 Brilliant and Touching album! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Ai Otsuka starts to show her fans and J-pop followers her demensions and other talents. In this album, songs like SMILY and U-Boat are instantly catchy and immensely likeable, plus the funny and funky Ramen 3 minute Fun Cooking which features Ai-chan talking on the phone to herself about Ramen, highly adorable. But in addition to having the fun songs she's known for, she has beautiful ballads on here as well. The 2 the come to mind are 5:09am, which starts with Ai singing calmly and exploding into the chorus with powerful rock guitars. Definitely a favorite of mine. And the other ballad is the exer popular Planetarium, which features flutes in the background as part of Ai's chrous. A very cute and emotional song and I dare anyone to hear that song and say that she can't sing! Overall, this is Ai's best album. But if you are looking for the neverending happiness of LOVE PUNCH, you might be disappointed in this work. Definitely a treasure in my eyes

June 23, 2006 Best album she has ever done Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
It's been, what, seven years since this album was released and Ayu still can't top this gem. This album has rock, r&b, pop, techno and trance influences all infused into each song. The best song on the album, by far, has to be And Then..., it is the perfect song, featuring a haunting strings in the background that give the listener the impression of fear going on in the song. This song should've been preformed live, it is that good (omitting her squeaky voice, it would be even BETTER, of course).

It is also interesting to note that nearly every song on this album was a hit, even the dreadful kanariya (african american vocals + squeaky japanese vocals = a ruined song) which has a wonderful beat, but it is ruined by Ayu's incessant whining, which is the case for every song on the album.

Another gem worth listening to is WHATEVER, which is composed by the same guy who did And Then. It has a wonderful trance beat and it sounds absolutely superb. A bit like a parapara song.

The only reason I didn't give this album a 10, is because, you guessed it, Ayu's vocals. As much success as she's achieved, it's still painfully obvious the girl can't sing. This is the only purchase all J-enthusiasts should make by this artist. Believe me, there are better J-singers in the sea.

June 23, 2006 Kimi no LOVE LIFE STYLE! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
hitomi's song Japanese Girl is a high-energy 80s dance esque pop song, complete with hitomi's trademark guitar riff in the chorus and bridge! The song is nothing less than superb, with lyrics written by hitomi. The catchy chorusline "I'm Just A Japanese Girl" is so addicting that it can get stuck in your head for weeks just by listening to this wonderful pop song. The other songs on this single are alright, nothing special. It's the A-side Japanese Girl that really shines.

Her new album is sure to be a hit!

    June 23, 2006 Kuuchan: Jpop's NEW Queen! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
BEST ~second session~ is a gorgeous album (or best of) filled with songs of many demensions and different sides of Kumi. In Birthday Eve and Shake It Up, Kuuchan explores her cute side by singing in a cute voice and having a cute PVs to match. They are both bubbly songs that show her fans that in addition to being a sexy diva, she can be cute like the rest of them! But her fans who love her sexy side are not to be disappointed, with songs like DDD, which features pop-rock influences and a simple proclaimation of "I want to make my dream come true!", Candy, which has Middle Eastern influences in both the song and PV (the PV even has a cute little storyline on it, spoken in English, the "hip" language, and written in Japanese on the screen), and the PV-less Love goes like..., with a nice "hip-pop" beat. And she offers up ballads as well, such as the ever popular you, the overly sexual Ima Sugu Hoshii (with WANT ME, WANT ME-esque lyrics) and others. People who want real, raw talent and are tired of untalented "singers" (more appropriately, squealers) such as the overrated Ayumi Hamasaki need to check this girl out!

June 23, 2006 Akina explores her Rock side! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
In this album, STOCK, Akina decided to go pop-rock. The songs feature powerful guitars, but not too overpowering, smooth vocals, and a soulful chorus in the background. The album opens with FAREWELL, a nice intro that might sound similar to rock songs of the 1980s by male vocalists in America. The real gem on this album is FOGGY RELATION, a brilliant song, in which we can hear Akina proclaim "LOVE IS FICTION!" throughout certain parts of the chorus in her cute Engrish voice. Another song worth mentioning is Mada Juubun Janai, which features Akina singing smoothly to a dancy beat to follow her voice. Even if rock isn't your style, then at least take a listen of the last track, I'm sure you'll change your mind after hearing such art.

June 23, 2006 Brilliant concept album!!!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Akina Nakamori's highly-overlooked gem, Fushigi (Mystery), is by far one of Akina's most artistic and gorgeous pieces of art. In this album that boasts nearly 45 minutes of listening pleasure, Akina, to fit with the album's title, had her vocals recorded, remixed with special effects and then reapplied to the song to create a distorted feeling amongst the album tracks. Listening to tracks such as Genwaku Sarete, Okibi or Gurasu no Kokoro, the listener feels as if they are in another world. Or the bold and exciting NEW GENERATION, mystical Labyrinth or bold WAIT FOR ME gives the listener something to dance and yell along to. Akina doesn't disappoint her fans who are more pop-oriented and looking for something closer to home, with more mainstream tracks such as Teenage Blue and Marionette, which Akina re-recorded in 1988 on a special album called Wonder. This is, by far, Akina's most daring and artistic attempt in the music world. It's no wonder she is the official REAL Queen of Jpop!

    June 2, 2006 Ando's Musicial Genius! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Lost Child, is a nice, calm ballad and a great opening for this single. She sings over strings in a relaxed atmosphere with a calm bass. It's wonderful. The next song Hoshi to Waltz, is an even calmer song sounding much like slow tempo waltz music. It's more of a sleepy time song, but still excellent. The real gem is miRu me, kiku me. It is an active song featuring an electronic piano and much drum work. It is simply fantastic!!! I wish it was on Yuko-chan's album.

It is an excellent buy for the person looking for some originality among the Ayus and Hikkis in Jpop!

April 8, 2006 Strong debut, mainly ballads Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Ando's first album is superb! Although mainly ballads, this does packs a few surprises, in no order (Sally, slow tempo magic which is the best song on the album, Kuroi Kuruma, Baby Baby Baby, Romantic, Mizuiro no Shirabe, and to an extent, track 12). But the slow songs on here aren't bad at all, which tracks like 8 - 12 have proven to be nothing short of excellent. No wonder Ando is still releasing music and isn't one of those flavor of the week artists.

February 14, 2006 Wonderful album by a unique vocalist! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I just received this class A gem today and I am nothing less than impressed! In this album, Ando uses the unique and oh-so-pleasent break in her voice to create rare and pleasurably sounding music. In Green Bird Finger and Mi Sora, the piano is evident in these two upbeat songs, and with the drums going crazy in the background accompanied by Ando's sweet vocals, one cannot help to put both of those tracks on repeat! The 1-2 beat of Ponki makes it a joy to attempt to dance and sing along to, as well. Or the soft ballady songs such as Nouzen Katsura, which features overlapping vocals that make this song nothing less than single material, Samishiigari ya no Kotobatachi, a nice smooth track in which Ando's true vocal talent really shines, Nouzen Katsura, in which only a piano and Ando are preforming - pure gold!, and others. This album has a bit of everything, like waltz music evident on Hoshi to Waltz (a fitting title, haha) for the person willing to venture out of mainstream, bland Jpop!

    November 22, 2005 Excellent! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is Tomo-chan's 10th Anniversary album, celebrating 10 wonderful years in the music business. This album, contrast to other "club banging" albums that lack serious feeling, is a calm ballad album, with only 2 upbeat songs, Suki wa Sekai Nagai Kotoba and SUMMER VACATION. The rest of the songs are soothing ballads ranging from the mysterious sounding Ai No Uta to the slow-dance type Tatta Hitotsu No Yakusoku. And as an added bonus, the DVD features the 2 PVs of Anata Ga Ireba followed by Namida No Tsuzuki and then a gorgeous acoustic preformance of I'm Proud that hasn't before been released on a CD followed by CMs of Anata Ga Ireba and Namida no Tsuzuki and then a special making of and an interview with the "visual dance queen". This is literally Tomo's best. It will be hard to top, but certainly not impossible for this legend.

    October 15, 2005 Excellent! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Tomomi's First (and hopefully not her last!) Video Collection. This DVD includes Keep Yourself Alive (her debut), I'm Proud, save your dream, Hate tell a lie and LOVE IS ALL MUSIC. It also has bonus PV clips such as I Believe, Tanoshiku Tanoshiku Yasashikune and I wanna go. And as an extra extra bonus, there is 10 second TVCM featuring CMS from her debut to storytelling. It also has optional Japanese subtitles and karaoke tracks, a pleasant surprise to the luxury of owning 5 original Tomo PVs! All of the features are in excellent quality and offer a glimse into the 90s when TK was the most in-demand producer of Jpop and Tomomi was a fresh face idol who was widely popular. The only downside is that the cover is hard to open!

April 11, 2005 Love Addict is Addictive! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Mika Nakashima's single, [Love Addict], is truly the best single this star has ever released. Only to be rivaled with [SEVEN], of course. The song is smooth and jazzy, a reminder of the flapper era in the 20s through the later 40s. The trumpets, strings and piano blend nicely with her vocals, which are clear and beautiful in this song, especially when hitting the high notes, in which other singers like Namie Amuro would crack under the pressure. The song is simple, yet extravagent and beautiful and has the certain quality that cannot be duplicated or Americanized without losing quality. The big band style and the chrous are most definately jazzy and beautiful. The song is very awesome and I enjoyed it very much. People who deny this song, or this single are literally missing out on one of her better songs.

Don't delay! Jazz lovers and Mika fans alike won't be disappointed. In fact, all it misses is a DVD+CD version!
