Improvements Needed Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
It’s been quite some time since Ayu last came out with a remix album and therefore this was a highly anticipated album for me. After one listen, somehow it just didn’t feel up to par with her previous remixes. I had half expected this album to be full with superb and electrifying techno / trance tracks but it wasn’t to be. In my opinion, the 2 best tracks that made me pleased were “ GAME × YOJI ” & “ Together When... × CO-FUSION ”. They had the beat and excitement that I was searching for in this album. “ HEAVEN × DAISHI DANCE ” is another good remix that gave me a whole new impression that remixes need not be in techno style to be good ! The starting of “alterna × FREEFORM FIVE ” was really good but the momentum just disappeared after that. Perhaps the most disappointing remix for me was “ No way to say × HIGH CONTRAST ”. The whole song was quite repetitive and boring with the same beats. The original version was definitely better ! “ JEWEL × STEPHANE POMPOUGNAC ” & “ part of Me × CARL CRAIG ” was also pretty good. All in all, this album pales in comparison with Ayu’s other remixes but it is still a good collector’s item. The cover looks nice and this version also comes with a postcard. I hope we will see some improvements in Ayu’s future remix albums. If you’re a fan of Ayu then get this.
