Charmed Innocence Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Soong Ryong is happy as he runs around his local town in utter pleasure after learning that his school infatuation Ji Ho as returned to town. Soong Ryong even accidentally leaves his worn shoes behind in his hasty trail as an absent minded token of his appreciation. He always loves pretty Ji Ho and endeavors to make his sister Jee In happy after the death of both their father and mother. “Ba:bo” is a really quaint and touching movie based off a popular k-comic. It’s leisurely paced, pleasant and requires an unrushed approach in watching. The story relates to failed goals and achievements, reconciliation, childhood upheavals and a look at the true understanding between what is really important and what should be secondary in life. Ji Ho returns to her hometown after failing to seal her deal as a classical pianist by getting stage fright – and becomes depressed. Jee In finds her brother Soong Ryong’s warm innocent ways annoying after losing their parents. Jee In doesn’t see her brain-damaged brother’s true caring heart and only gets irritated by Soong Ryong’s simple happy innocence as he sells toast at her school. She becomes constantly hardened and embarrassed towards him. But Soong Ryong truly cares for Jee In, if only she could see his true heart beneath his outward clumsy innocence.

Ji Ho eventually finds solace in Soong Ryong’s innocent awkwardness and bumbling happiness, which mends her anxiety and depression concerning her musical ambitions. Ji Ho discovers her caring untapped motherly love towards Soong Ryong, after confronting again her childlike admirer, which by her sympathy and understanding to him opens a door to conquering her ambition and depression. Ji Ho thought Soong Ryong had ruined her chances of becoming a classical pianist after he had (purportedly) burnt her piano down in a school fire, and hadn’t initially forgiven him. “Ba:Bo” gets a little more serious near the end, but overall is one rewarding film to watch. Tae-hyun Cha does well again here. He portrays another lovable character that would certainly gain your sympathy and his play-acting as amiable Soong Ryong is quite remarkable. Ji Won also plays a more muted but focused role as the sympathetic Jo Ho (I still lament and wish Ji Won would rock again in a new horror film like “Phone” though). “Ba:bo” is a good intending movie from the magic charm of “Ditto” (a gem!) director Jeong Kwon Kim. Worth seeing for Tae-hyun’s sensitive role and Ji Won’s charm and patient spirit.

Hurrah Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This movie is awesome. Cha Tae Hyun did it again. Played well as a crazy man who loves Haji Won since grade school. Kept waiting for her return...

And although he has mental disability he was able to look after her younger sister day to day. Quite sad ending but i tell you, it something to remember. Great great movie.
