Buyers Beware Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
Having seen the lovely Lin Dai in so many memorable tragic roles, I was eager to see how she would fare in a romantic comedy. The answer: She does just fine, thank you. Unfortunately, while Lin Dai looks young and charming and tackles her role with gusto, the movie itself is a bit clunky.

Lin Dai plays an innocent small town girl who comes to Hong Kong to marry her cousin. However, upon arriving in HK, she finds that her cousin is an irresponsible womanizer who views her as a child. Upon seeing what a cad her cousin had become, one might wonder why Ms. Lin's character would continue to view him as a suitable mate.

She then turns a bit vicious in eliminating her competitors for her cousin's affection. For example, she seems to take great delight in seeing one of the women get severely sunburned while on a fishing trip.

Ultimately, how does she win her cousin's affections? By showing herself off in a swimsuit competition. Permit me to speak for the male gender: While seeing Lin Dai's lovely form in a swimsuit definitely will put certain thoughts into a man's head, those thoughts won't have much to do with marriage!

"Bachelors Beware" is a diverting, watchable film, but ultimately is a forgettable piece of fluff. Moreover, the film often has a washed-out appearance. Recommended for diehard Lin Dai fans.

Bachelors Beware Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This was the first time I watched Cathy's movie. This comedy was very pleasant. The photographic technique was better than most Chinese movies at that decade. Though there was no famous song in this movie, the background music brought out the mood of the scenes.
The supporting actress Yu So Chau was very charming, acting with her real voice. The main actor, Chang Yang, was very cute and had very good acting. This is my rare collection.
