A lifelong promise to love is not entirely easy, at least to Yue-shan and Hsiao-li in Beauty Lady. The two girls find true love when they are in the greatest despair, but that is never the end to their miseries! Starring popular Taiwanese TV idols Ambrose Hsu (At The Dolphin Bay), Lu Ming Jun (The Rose), Guo Ding-wen, and Ting Ting.
Yue-shan's fiancee takes away all her money and leases her apartment to Han-wen on the eve of marriage. She pleads Han-wen to share the apartment with her because she is almost bankrupt due to family problems. Han-wen's sympathy towards her gradually turns to love, without knowing that his parents has already arranged another marriage for him...
Hsiao-li's half-brother accidentally kills her boyfriend. She has been a rebellious young girl since then until she falls in love with Heng-feng who saves her life several times. Soon after promising to love each other for life, they find out that love between them is impossible!

A bit disjointed but good all, pretty good.

My first response after watching this was that it's a bit disjointed. Basically, it's about 3 gals looking for true love. 2 of them are buddies (Ting Ting and her buddy) and then there's YueShan (Joelle) but YueShan doesn't seem to have any connection with them except remotely via HanWen (Ambrose) who's a teacher in Ting Ting's school. I thought it would have flowed better if the 3 gals ended up being friends or at least know each other as they journey to find true love. Still, it's a pretty enjoyable series although I got the feeling it's to promote Ting Ting. She's OK in here but I think she's better in 'Legend of the Twins'. Joelle probably shared the same amount of screen time as Ting Ting. Joelle showed her versatility in here as her character is completely different to that in 'The Rose' and 'The Outsiders'. Ambrose is cute and lovable as ever as the innocent, kind-hearted and saintly HanWen. I agree that it did show he can do comedies. He and Joelle provided some comic moments as did some of the supporting casts. All in all, they did a good job. Don't forget to check out the extras at the end! If you like either these 3, this is a good drama to add to your collection. One question though... what's the difference between this version and Taiwan version? The latter is soooo expensive! |

Im glad to hear Ambrose's Real voice in this serie. Its a good story line. And of course he is a cute as ever. Like they have said Ambrose's role in this serie fits him more. But I'm a die-hard lavender fan. i think Ambrose looks better on the screen with Tammy more Lu Ming Jun. Just my thoughts. |

disappointed
| this wasn't as good as i expected. i watched most of Ambrose's shows and this was a little disappointing. although, if you're an Ambrose fan, you should still watch it. |

If you are a fan of Ambrose, this "Beauty Lady" is must see. I have watched three Ambrose dramas, Leo in "Lavender", Zeya in "At the Dolphin Bay" and HanWen in "Beauty Lady". It seems that HanWen is the most down-to-earth acting role for him. In this drama, he looks really natural and you can see that he could be really match for the comedy,too. I will continue to support him and hope he would be a megastar in the near future. |
