Bet to Basic (US Version) DVD Region All

In the recent years, Yuen Wah pairs up with Yuen Qiu to create a number of successful comedies. Previously their Kung Fu Mahjong series has offered movie fans much fun with Chinese people's favorite pastime - mahjong. In Bet to Basic, another hilarious title on Mahjong, Yuen Wah proves himself to be just as capable in entertaining the audience even without Yuen Qiu. With Jordon Chan and Rain Lee leading the cast, Bet to Basic will offer some amusing scenes in which mahjong masters will show off their stunning skills in shuffling mahjong tiles. Gambling is an established topic in Hong Kong cinema, but the first-time director Paul Chung, also an experienced scriptwriter, has incorporated some innovations into Bet to Basic to make it more enjoyable than the audience would have expected.

Good-for-nothing gangster Dragon (Chin Kar Lok) discovers that his newly arrived cousin Roy (Jordon) is a super lucky guy. Roy can win huge money from playing mahjong even if he knows nothing about the game. Mahjong master Wah (Yuen Wah) sees Roy's potential and takes Roy to be his apprentice. Roy has a crush on Wah's another apprentice Pui (Rain Lee), without recognizing Pui as the undercover sent by the wicked and aggressive Mie Luo (Samuel Pang), who wants to make himself "The King of Mahjong" at all cost...

二流古惑仔飛龍(錢嘉樂)好賭成性，開罪了三大老千，幸得從美國回流的表弟"來(陳小春)"救駕，發現來的運氣奇佳，鋪鋪自摸天糊，遂帶來往雀館搵食。來目擊當世兩大麻雀高手華三元(元華)與葛和青(葛民輝)的鬥爭，見二人終落得一破產一瘋癲的下場，決放棄爭奪「麻雀之王」名譽，來需無爭雄之心，其牌運卻令野心奪標的滅羅(彭敬慈)寢食難安，設計加害之。

華三元得知來擁有絕世好運，央求來成為自己的徒弟，卻被滅羅發現，派人教訓之，卻誤中副車令飛龍重傷，終令來跟隨華三元學麻雀之術，更與華徒佩兒(李彩華)產生了一段微妙的感情。

佩兒與滅羅原是一對，為了戀人決心查出來的好運來源，更將之奪到滅羅手中，就在來感到絕望的時候；葛和青突然康復，與華三元聯手訓練來，決要把來訓練成新一代的「雀王之王」…

Inferior gangster Flying Dragon (Chin Ka Lok) has a bad habit of gambling, he thus offends the three great gamble deceivers. Luckily his younger cousin, Roy (Jordon Chan), who comes back from America is extraordinarily lucky, he can win every round of the game and saves Flying Dragon. Flying Dragon hence brings Roy to Mahjong casino to earn money for him. Roy observes the rivalry between two Mahjong geniuses Hua San Yuan (Yuen Wah) and Ge He Qing (Eric Kot) by chance, he witnesses the fate of them – one turns to be insane and one becomes bankrupt, and decides not to snatch the reputation of “The King of Mahjong”. Though Roy has no desire to seize the fame, his good luck elicits the worry of aggressive Mie Luo (Pang Jin Chi) who then plans to harm Roy....
