Good music 'blossoming' here
| The women of Big Mama certainly can sing! Their distinctive voices are shown off to sometimes thrilling effect on "Blossom". The album is a ballad-heavy collection, seasoned with a few dance tracks, most in a cool 1970s disco groove. I particularly enjoy Big Mama when they harmonize; when those big voices blend, they really can soar. I have one mild criticism of "Blossom": Several of the ballads have arrangements that are a bit bland, a bit old-fashioned. However, the compositions are strong and the voices are glorious! Highly recommended. |

They Deserve Recognition!
| This is my very first album from Big Mama. I've always known that they are a talented group but didnt really went to check them out till i heard their song- Betray, Track 2. The reason why i bought this album and i didn't buy the others was because this album is more of ballads, mid tempo ballads (Think Seeya and their mid tempo ballads.) and its my favourite genre! Whereas their earlier albums is more of soulful music but it goes to show how powerful and strong vocals they've. For Soulful music in my opinion, you need to have strong vocals if not you won't be able to pull it off. Back to the album, its really a great album in terms of quality. Big mama consists of ladies who're not your typical, slim pretty kinda girls(Not that they're not pretty dont get me wrong)Its just that, Big mama doesn't conform to the music industry that want a certain pretty look, or to be slim like a certain standard. They're a group that stands our in their vocal abilities rather than looks. For all ballad lovers out there, this is the cd for you. |
