기억상실증에 걸린 전직 CIA의 요원 제이슨 본은 밤마다 알 수 없는 악몽에 시달린다. 그 악몽이 바로 자신이 예전에 실제로 겪었던 일임을 확신하는 제이슨 본. 그는 자신을 제거하려는 CIA를 피해 연인 마리와 함께 떠돌이 생활을 하지만, 왜 자신이 쫓겨야 하는 이유조차 모른다. 살아남기 위해서 이유도 모르는 도피생활을 하고 다니는 것이다. 인도 고어에서 마리와 평범한 생활을 하는 중에도 자신의 정체성에 대한 흔적들을 모으고 있었다. 그러던 어느 날, 제이슨 본은 누군가가 자신을 찾아다니는 것을 보게 되고, 마리와 함께 짐을 챙겨 도주를 시작한다. 쫓고 쫓기는 와중에 연인 마리는 CIA 요원에게 살해되고, 제이슨 본은 자신이 모종의 음모에 연루되어 있음을 알게 된다.

Exciting actioner

"The Bourne Supremacy" features an ingenious plot and a terrific cast. Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) and the love of his life Marie (Franka Potente) have settled in Goa, India, hoping to stay out of harm's way. But harm has a way of finding Jason Bourne. After Bourne is blamed for a hit on two CIA operatives in Berlin, a Russian hired gun is sent to terminate him. Soon Bourne finds himself enmeshed again in international intrigue that takes him from Naples to Berlin to Moscow in an attempt to free himself of his pursuers. Joan Allen and Brian Cox are brilliant as CIA honchos and Matt Damon does a nice job of adding nuance and color to his tormented action hero. My one gripe about this film (and it is a fairly big one) pertains to the cinematic style adopted by director Paul Greengrass. He employs lots of handheld camera work and rapid-fire quick cuts. The intent of this approach is to create a visceral immediacy, giving the viewer the sense of being in the middle of the film's frantic action. However, the dizzying blur of visual images made parts of the film literally stomach-churning for me. Nonetheless, "The Bourne Supremacy" is a solid action film that I can recommend highly. |
