The "godfather of the kung-fu film" Chang Cheh, was given one of the highest budgets to tell this sweeping war story of disillusionment, and revenge. Kung-fu choreographer Liu Chia-liang led an all-star fighting cast featuring international favorite Alexander Fu Sheng and Shaw Brothers, villain superme Wang Lung-wei. Even the most avid fans of Bloody Avengers the heavily edited U.S. version of this film, will find this uncut, uncropped original a welcome revelation.

Good eastern heroism

The movie defines the good spirit of eatern heroes fighting for their country and races. The ending story is not good with the death of Fu Sheng and Jenny. |

Boxer rebellion
|
A great cast which includes Fu Sheng, Chi Kwan Juan, Li Li Hwa, Hu Chin, Jenny... however, none of their roles are impressive. A historical war movie turned out to be another kung fu movie. Probably this is what director Chang Cheh's intent. |
