Tough, hardworking Geum Jan Di (Ku Hye Sun) attends an exclusive school, but she finds her shallow, privileged classmates unbearable, especially the notorious F4. Rich, handsome, and arrogant, Goo Joon Pyo (Lee Min Ho), Yoon Ji Hoo (Kim Hyun Joong), Song Woo Bin (Kim Joon), and So Yi Jung (Kim Bum) are the kings of the school and no one, not even the teachers, dare challenge them. No one, that is, except Jan Di. Angry at their rudeness, Jan Di tells off F4 leader Joon Pyo, bringing a world of trouble upon herself. The proud and persistent Joon Pyo falls hard for feisty Jan Di, but she shares a connection with the quiet, sensitive Ji Hoo. Caught between the two friends, who will Jan Di choose?

The runaway hit of 2009, Boys Over Flowers attracted high viewership ratings and buzz throughout its broadcast, turning its young cast into household names and starting off a Kgotboda Namja trend in Korea. Lee Min Ho, Korean entertainment's newest poster boy, won the Best Newcomer Actor award at the 45th Baeksang Arts Awards, while co-star Kim Hyun Joong took the Popularity Award. Boys Over Flowers also features supporting appearances from Han Chae Young (Tale of Autumn) as Ji Hoo's first love, Kim Hyun Ju (Glass Slippers) as Joon Pyo's sister, and Kim So Eun (Sad Love Song) as Jan Di's best friend.

Vol. 2 comes with over two hours of English-subtitled special features including 75 minutes of making of and interviews, and the 63-minute F4 Talk Show that was aired mid-season in Korea.

I am absolutely in love with this show! I bought both volumes, and the first one came today. The shipping was fast and it was packaged very well! The subtitles are also flawless, i have no complaints. If you are really into these types of shows i most definitely recommend this drama!

Bought Both Volumes Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I bought both volumes from YesAsia last month and finished the drama in no time. I have already seen the drama previously on the internet and have fallen in love with the story and their characters (not to mention the actors). Thinking that this is one of the best K-Dramas that was ever created, I know that I have got the DVDs when it came out.

Instead of reviewing how awesome the drama is, I am going to talk about the DVDs that were released by YA Entertainment. This is the legal release of "Boys Over Flowers" from KBS in Korea, so the subtitles is as accurate as it can possibly be.

However, let me talk about the cons about these editions:

The only downer about the subs is that the publisher thought it was be easier for us Americans to understand when characters call each other by names. As BOF fans would know, Jandi always called Jihoo by "Jihoo sunbae," so in many fan subs, they wrote "Jihoo Sunbae" in the subtitles. Unlike the fan subs, this DVD only writes "Jihoo," "Jandi," "Junpyo," etc. When Junpyo calls his older sister, he doesn't say "Junhee," because we can hear him say "noona;" however, in the subs, it was just written as "Junhee."

Another problem I had with the subs is the traditional Korean sayings that Junpyo was known to say wrong (the idioms, slangs, etc.). The subs did not provide any explanation unlike fan subs, so if I haven't seen the fan subs, I would not have laugh along the line with Junpyo because I am not Korean, therefore, I don't know any of their slangs.

And that is about it, those were the only two problems I found with these DVDs. The rest---everything about the DVDs is perfect. I am very glad I bought them (separately though, because I couldn't wait). This is the best way you can support this amazing K-Drama!

Answer to the previous reviewer: This is the legal edition so it is almost like the legal Warner Bros. releasing "Harry Potter" unlike some Asian companies that releases an illegal copy and sell it on auction sites. Your friend probably bought the fake copy and I have unfortunately, been cheated into buying fake ones. Those fake copies were subbed by those Chinese (mostly) releaser, so be careful when you buy them!

hi. does anyone who bought this series from yesasia know if the subtitles are written well for all the episodes? My friend bought copy from somewhere else and the subtitles were all good until the last 6 episodes. On the last 6 episodes, you can't even understand the subs! Please let me know. Thanks!!

KDrama Hit! Hana Yori Dango Korean style! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
If you seen The Taiwanese and Japanese version, than this a must see drama. I watch this even before it came out on video. I love it so much that I even brought it on video, plus I brought the OST. Love the humor, romance, even the action was awesome. Must buy must see, great K Drama so far...

Thanks to Ya Entertainment for doing such a great subbing. It was so easy to understand.

I love this K-Drama! It is a romantic, sweet, and cute drama to watch. In my opinion, this drama is a better version of "Hana Yori Dango," even though the storyline changes a bit. All the actors and actresses portray their characters very well. It is an addicting drama! I highly recommend people to buy it. It is worth the money.
