Thoroughly amusing
| If you enjoyed the cult classic, Chinese fantasy/myth of Zu: Warriors of the Magic Mountain (Sammo Hung/Yuen Biao/Adam Cheng/Brigette Lin) then you'll definately get a kick out of this film. It has the same 80s special effects of drawn in beams of light/patterns streaming from hands & the great extendable foot/leg prop. The thing is, the actors put a heart & soul performance into it which you feel you want to give them credit for. If they hadn't done so, the movie would have felt like a joke. The movie itself was narrated with inner monologues to help the audience keep up with the fast pace of the story board. There were lapses in subtitles but you could pretty much figure out in context. This should be cult classic status. |

"Buddha's Palm" rocks!
| In order for a movie of this kind to work, the director and cast must throw themselves into their roles with abandon, holding nothing back. If anyone plays it safe, then the entire project will look like a bad joke. In Buddha's Palm, director Taylor Wong and a stellar cast create screen magic by playing their parts with absolute conviction. The results are thrilling, eye-popping, and absolutely hilarious. Particularly brilliant is Lo Lieh, who takes a break from his familiar menacing bad guy roles to work some comic genius here. Watch this film for the sheer joyous, mad, entertaining pleasure of it! |

Another worth watching Shaw's classic with strong cast, strong plot and interesting 80's special effects. Two thumps up ! |
