Filmmaker Kim Dae Sung, who would go on to helm 2005's Blood Rain, makes his feature length directorial debut with an unconventional love story that boasts an even more unconventional title, Bungee Jumping Of Their Own! The film begins in 1983, when university student Seo In Woo (Lee Byung Hun, from A Bittersweet Life and Everybody Has Secrets) falls in love with In Tae Hee (the late Lee Eun Joo, from Taegukgi and Lover's Concerto) a young woman with whom he shares his umbrella during a rainstorm. Their blossoming relationship is shown incrementally, in ways that accentuate the comedy of their situation, while at the same time conveying a sense that the two share a deep bond, one that will later prove pivotal to the story's outcome.

After learning that In Woo must leave for his compulsory two year service in the military, the film flashes forward seventeen years to find that the young man has now matured into a confident high school teacher. But as the film slowly reveals, he is married not to Tae Hee, but to another woman. It seems Tae Hee died some seventeen years ago, and through a series of clues, In Woo begins to suspect that a teenage boy named Lim Hyeon Bin (Yeo Hyun Soo, from Holiday and Birth of a Man) is the reincarnation of the girl he loved all those many years ago. Despite being a heterosexual, In Woo begins to fall in love with the student, discovering that true love really has no boundaries. A romantic melodrama at its finest, this brave, deceptively transgressive film handles its tricky subject matter with sparkling grace, culminating in a dark finale that is both tragic and transcendent.

 Byung Hun-Mad About the Girl? Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Of all the Eun Joo Lee movies she as been in, definitely, for me, "Lover's Concerto" will be the best film she has ever been in - I love it beyond its credits and kudos! (Sadly, I wished she could have made more marvellous films, considering her premature death). Bungee Jumping, is a very sweet and touching movie many will like, and at heart leaves a good positive message...but its certainly a strange oddity of a film that may leave some people puzzled by its message concerning the relationship of the two main characters. The film's brave, yeah, but if I loved a girl once upon a time and later found myself in the circumstances Byung Hun faced at the end, I would find that one Mighty Hiccup (arf) in Heaven's Scheme of Things, for sure. I realise its the soul we should love more in another, but 'seeing' that love again as a visual constant, is to compliment that person. But, maybe it has to be something opposite of that person to be considered to be a truth of a love. The ending, too, may have been befitting, but certainly not ideal.

Still, Bungee has a really wonderful charm to it and I certainly like this film a lot, Eun Joo is as lovely as ever, too, (where, though, was that scene where she looks at her reflection in the spoon with one eye closed...which was cute in a film still I saw of her, but didn't see her close her one eye in the actual film) and Byung Hun plays a very likable character throughout (apart from when he's going nuts trying hard to grasp how Eun's character was not quite expected by her 'return'). If you want a more unusual, slightly radical, romantic film (and I watched "Rules of Dating" the night before this....another leftfield approach to romantic drama!) go for this, but like "Rules of Dating", this isn't going to be the usual romance drama couples generally appreciate eating their chocolates too.

This is a story of a love reincarnation. This really made me cry over and over again. The girl who died in this movie reincarnated, unfortunately she reincarnated into a man's body. However Byun Hun was able to recognize her in his body. Sooooo odd, but he fell in love with him... coz its her???

Well, the ending definitely is sad... puzzling actually. You can make your own ending coz the last seen is that they both went to new zealand and did bungee jumping??? not sure if with ropes. Really nice. You have to get a copy.

I thought this movie was so odd. Perhaps it's because I don;t believe in reincarnation, but what a strange film. It wasn't that it was a bad film, I was just left thinking, "What in the world is going on?" It shocked me and left me feeling uneasy.

‘Bungee Jumping of Their Own’ is seriously one amazing movie. It doesn’t seem all too interesting in the first 10 minutes of the movie, but once that 10 minute passes, you’ll be glued to your seat! I watched this movie with my boyfriend and we were both blurting out our guesses of what will happen next over and over again due to our excitement and curiosity, and it was till the ending where we were both speechless. ‘WOW’ this movie is just, “WOW” –BUY IT! You won’t regret it!
