Disappointing Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
I bought 2 DVDs, one is called Clara's Summer and another, Butterfly. In comparison, Butterfly lacks substance and impact. True, there are lots of special effects but they do not quite go well or connect with the audience. Whereas Clara's Summer is a simpler flim with a meaning behind. Connectivity is very important and with all the hype from fellow friends, I think I raised my expectations too much

Good movie with good soundtracks Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
The album was rather nice, especially those songs which were used as soundtracks in the movie.. Everytime my partner and I listen to the album, scenes from the movie come back to us. We have watched this movie countless times since the purchase few months back. We still enjoy the movie very much. It's highly recommended. This is one of the best movies that I have ever watched with queer content in it...

interesting film Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I can't remember the last time I saw an HK film this beautiful that's not associated with Wong Kar Wai. The use of 16mm camera seems excessive at times, but ultimately helps define the "look" of the film. What I find kind of annoying though is the choppy editing - there's tasteful non-linear storytelling, and then there's poor storytelling/editing that screams "I'm trying so hard!" This film falls in the latter.

Overall, "Butterfly" has solid acting, nice cinematography, and an interesting, albeit flawed, plot. And just so I can get this out of my system, ANY film with a giant movie poster of "Blow-Up" as part of the set is worth checking out!

Excellent Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I found this movie to be very refreshing.

As a male I did not feel like I was bashed at all. In fact, I felt like this movie showed males in a realisticly positive way.

The message of the movie was very beautiful. The story was believable.

I would recommand this movie to anyone who enjoy movies that encourages you to think about human rights and life in general.

Not exciting Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
The flashes between past and present are neat, but the absence of a single strong or even likeable character is the main flaw. The very long scenes of women hugging each other are plain boring.

ground breaking asian Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
One of a handful of films that depicts lesbian relationship as a whole - meaning, it is not for shock value or as a side kick. Flavia in the movie does not become a lesbian because of abuse by the men in her life; in fact, the men in her life are realistic and likeable. This movie explores and relates to the audience of finding and accepting oneself. There is no shame in being who you are, if you deny that part of you, you are not you. Truely, I was surprise that this came out of an Asian movie house.

Beautiful Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
A beautiful movie that captured the intensity of human emotion, from the cocoon state of youth to blossom into the beautiful butterfly of adulthood. And good acting from both actresses as well.

Not a good one Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
If you like to see women and women hugging each other and kissing each other, then this is the one. Otherwise don't buy it because there's nothing else worthing watching.
