I came across this movie accidentally. As I was browsing through the website of YesAsia.com, I picked this flick out of the blue because I have just started my interest in Japanese movies. Honestly, this movie touched my heart and brought so much passion out of me. It features Kelly Chen(Aoi) and Takenouchi Yutaka(Junsei). They play two young lovers who share so much together but was seperated because of an incident. Junsei went on with the memory of his love for Aoi in her absence. Many years passed and Aoi was still searching for the true meaning of affection for Junsei. Although their lives went on, still there was always that 'little' feeling amongst themselves which was never clarified or defined. The memories of their past constantly haunt them and lead them to wonder how the other was feeling. Many times the 'what if' question was popping up in Aoi's mind. Although she was confused with her feelings for Junsei, the timing was perfect for her to search and settle her need for him. They were both equally stubborn people and so much so that Aoi wanted Junsei to pursue her a little further, their ignorance made the romance more worthwhile and meaningful respectively. It's a really warm and touching drama. Not only does it seem impossible to come across situations like this, but I believe having faith, hope and given fate, there's never a full stop when it comes to love....Believe in miracles... |

Highly Recommended
| Excellent movie. The story is not told in sequence, but rather, by juxtaposing the past and present. Thus, bits and pieces are revealed throughout the movie and come together at the end. The multicultural flavor of the movie adds to story. Both Kelly and Yutaka speak English, Italian, and Japanese in the movie. Since it's somewhat a fairy tale love story, the movie requires suspension of belief to enjoy. Also, great theme songs by Enya. |

Kelly does it again!!

This is a very good drama/romance movie. I think it is definitely more of a chick flick though. I have never seen Kelly Chen do a bad movie, she is excellent. If you like romantic movies I would recommend this movie to you. |

Great Love Story
| My friend, she bought this VCD from yesasia.com and asked me to watch with her. At first I did not think I was going to enjoy it because I am not used to watching these kinds of romance movies. But into the middle of it, I started to lighten up and started to like it. This is a great movie, great story, and the actors are great too. Kelly Chen (as Aoi) is really elegant and charming in this movie. Takenouchi Yutaka (Junsei) is one of those silent types but filled with emotion. This movie is great to watch. I recommend it. |

Calmi Cuori Apassionati was a pleasantly unexpected surprise. I bought the movie because I am a fan of Takanouchi Yukata-san. Kelly Chen and Firenze (the Italian spelling for Florence) were added bonuses. My girlfriend and I had fun watching it mainly due to our familiarity with the city; we had an opportunity to visit Firenze in 1999. This familiarity helped heighten the romantic feelings the actors were portraying on the screen. We knew how they were feeling standing there in that city. The story line had a very strong sense of homage to the 1957 American film, An Affair to Remember, where the star-crossed lovers (Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr) were to meet at the top of the Empire State building. In that movie, Cary Grant was a painter, as is Junsei (Takanouchi) in this movie. Aoi (Chen) however was not a crippled by an accident, but one who was coerced into committing an act that would separate Junsei from her, despite the intensity of their desire for each other. This desire does not diminish with time and distance and thus ten years after making a promise to meet at the top of the Duomo, they¡K. well I¡¦ll let you watch the movie to find out what happens. The most attractive feature in this movie that seriously lacks in American movies is the multi lingual conversations. It was refreshing to listen to the actors switch from Italian, Japanese and English. I thought both Takanouchi and Chen¡¦s Italian seemed very real to me (again having experienced it first hand). Takanouchi¡¦s English also felt natural. This is in comparison to the English abilities of his co-star, Osawa Takao; from Die Sterntäler (Heaven¡¦s Coins I and II) who¡¦s English is heavily accented and rather forced. As one who is struggling with my own Japanese and Chinese Language studies, I can appreciate Takanouchi¡¦s ability. I guess I better study harder. The choice of Firenze as the story¡¦s backdrop was truly inspired. The amount of art contained in this city is incredible. I suggest to anyone reading this to get the Japanese Blu version with the extra disc that includes a 34-minute feature that shows all the places where this movie was filmed. I will point out one error in the movie. At one point the train conductor said to Junsei to jump on a certain train to beat another train to Milan. That would never happen. I took the same train to Milan and it arrived just in time for my girlfriend and I to wave goodbye to our Swiss connection. We ended up waiting 2-1/2 hours for the next train to Switzerland. To see some pictures of our trip visit the website: http://valnetin.tripod.com I heartily recommend this movie. I haven¡¦t felt this way about a movie since Hong Kong 1941 with Chow Yun Fat, Alex Mann and Cynthia Yip. |

The movie is really just...ok
| Seriously, im a fan of Kelly Chen and i bought all of her movies. And this one just quite disappointed me just a little bit. Maybe all you ppl think its really worth it because of Kelly and Yutaka, then yea probablly. But just base on the movie, i think the story line is okay..but the story in the movie is moving way too slow, i was falling asleep. I mean Kelly and Yutaka are great actors and such, and yea the place they shot the film is beautiful, but other than that, i wont really recommend this movie if its really no major actors there. |

Kelly + Takenouchi = Great Chemistry!
| Calmi Cuori Appasionati is the movie which I waited for such a long time to be released on vcd. And it was definitely worth the wait. This movie is an extremely touching love story between Aoi (Kelly Chen) and Junsei (Takenouchi Yutaka), both met when they were both freshmens in college. They were each other's first true love. One day, Junsei went to Italy to study art restoration and Aoi went her separate way. Some years later, by fate, they meet again, in Italy. Aoi still has feelings for Junsei and Junsei still deeply loves Aoi. Aoi has a boyfriend named Mark (sometimes in movie it is translated as Marve) who is played by Michael Wong (Wong Man Dak). Who will Aoi choose? Will Aoi choose Mark or Junsei? This is a remarkable love story, every touching which complements the beautiful and exquisite sceneries of Florence, Italy, and Milan, Italy. Kelly and Takenouchi's performances were excellent, really made me believe their characters, and they have absolutely great on-screen chemistry! At then end I was crying. So get this movie and get some tissue, because this is the best romance movie to come in a long time! Highly recommend this movie! |
