Retro style baby!
| Visually, this movie rocks! however, I will admit its plot is rather choppy at times, and boring in the begining. But I think the movie is well worth it, I think right now Japanese cinema is really trying to define itself and this movie is a stepping stone. I think the DVD is really expensive, but if u have the money, save it for the oversea's version. Get the best quality version possible! |

| First off, I don't even know what the DVD will look like, but previous Shochiku DVDs have always looked good so I guess it will replicate the visual splendour of this film as well as DVD can push it. I'll spare you the plot details as other web sites can help you with that, but this is the most visually accomplished film I have seen. The visuals are quite unlike anything you'll have seen before, ranging from enchanted forests to steampunk cities. Alas, this is where the compliments end. It's one extremely slow paced film that amounts to a 2.5 hour lecture on how humanity is some unrelenting race that's hellbent on self-destruction. I'm not adverse to messages in films, but the director has a lot to learn about subtlety, and probably structure. And if you're going to watch it, it doesn't get better after the major CG fight scene. Recommended to sentimental viewers and visual effects students. |

A must see!
| while casshern is obviously a movie not for everyone.. due to the fact it employs a traditional mecha action to its theme.. it is a movie however everyone should experience.. it will raise the bar for graphics, cg and futuristic sci fi action.. the story isn't the best to many but then again rarely do we see a 'good story' these days.. love it or not.. watch this movie and u will be impressed in 1 way or another.. attention to detail is simply unbelievable! |

an Amazing movie
| Watched the movie and I have to say its amazing, the story telling is quiet deep and far beyond my first impression of the trailer. Fairly philosophical in dialogues and just one very adapted story to the original anime series I give this one a nine |
