Cheng Kwok-kong: master.
| The master of beautiful lyrics belongs to Cheng Kwok-kong. Countless masterpieces. I bought his 3 CD album just today and I was thoroughly impressed with the works. I wish he can continue writing lyrics for the Cantopop songs until he retires, because I sincerely believe he still has a lot to offer to Cantopop. Perhaps he can even teach today's Cantopop lyricists how to write better lyrics, so songs can become timeless classics; along with lovely composition, beautiful musical arrangement and heavenly rendition of each song, therefore making these a hit with listeners for many years to come. Other lyricists in which I loved their penned works include Calvin Poon Yuen-leung, Poon Wai-yuen, Siu Mei, Lee Man, Heung Shuet-wai, James Wong, Cheung Mei-yin, and the late Richard Lam Chun-keung. Please enjoy these creative lyric writing talents, Hong Kong. Thank you. Peace. |
